Rebuilding Mirror Raid -- WHICH Drive is Being Rebuilt??

$

0

My RAID 1 mirror worked fine until a couple days ago, when it was triggered to start a rebuild. It seems to now be continuously rebuilding, in that I saw it go to 95% done, and when I looked a few hours later, it was back to 5% done. I assume one of the two underlying hard disks is flaky and should be replaced -- but which one?? The ROM BIOS control-I merely says the volume is rebuilding, and Intel Rapid Storage Technology likewise says the volume is rebuilding, and the detailed report of the two underlying drives is "normal". In sum, I see no clue from either ROM BIOS or IRST which hard drive to replace.

This is slightly dated equipment and software. The mobo is DX58SO, and the BIOS isn't the latest -- I had to stop updating because Intel's updates were breaking more things than they fixed! IRST is also not the latest: 9.6.0.1014. I figure it's risky to try to update it at this point.

What's my simplest pathway? I could disconnect one of the two drives and boot it and see if the system functions properly; if it does, then I can assume I've found the bad drive and replace it and let it rebuild again. Or if the system doesn't function with the one drive disconnected, I can disconnect the other drive instead, and see if that works any better. But is there something I can do that doesn't involve guesswork? Something that will report, for example, which underlying disk is being written? I don't want to make a mess here; I just want to make a surgical change.

Front panel audio drivers repeatedly reports connect/disconnect

Hello,

I have a DX58SO2 board. Speakers are connected to back panel audio.

Front panel audio is connected to HD Audio header, but most of time nothing is plugged in.

Everything worked nicely for almost 3 years.

About a month ago the audio drivers / Realtek HD Audio Manager started to periodically report connected/disconnected microphone and headphones on the front panel jack, when in fact nothing is connected. Sometimes it happens every minute or so, sometimes once in a few hours. I tried checking and reseating motherboard connector but it did not help.

I was able at least to disable HD Audio dialog up popping-up in the middle of everything, so now only a balloon notifications appear.

So the question is, is this a software glich or hardware problem? And are there any ways to fix it?

Thank you

Memory problems with new DZ77BH-55K

I finally got all of my parts and completed the build and when I turned the computer on I heard 3 beeps (memory problem) and a 32 error code. I got the computer to boot by switching the memory around and by using only one at a time, but only with 2 of the 4 memory modules. They will only work in the "B" channel, on Dimm 4 and 2. I can have one in Dimm 4, one in Dimm 2, or one in both. As soon as I add a module to Dimm 1 and/or 3, I get the 3 beep memory problem error and the computer will not boot. I even bought another memory module from the store (different manufacturer) to be sure. I've updated the motherboard bios to the most current version (BHZ7710H.86A.0070.2012.0416.2117) but still have the same problem. The memory also showed up as 1333 MHz in the bios, but I was able to change it to 1600MHz with no problems.

Here's the specs:

Motherboard: DZ77BH-55K

CPU: Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 X 4GB) 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz (PC3 12800) Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

GPU: Nvidia GTX 560 2GB PCI Express 2.0 X 16

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or are having the same problem, so we can find a solution. I really hope it's not a defective board, because I would hate to unplug everything, ship it back and wait for the new one to come.

Graphics Driver for DQ77KB and Xeon E3-1265L v2

Hi, I've recently built a new system using a DQ77KB desktop board, and a Xeon E3-1265L v2 CPU. The CPU is listed as compatible with the board, and it works perfectly fine. I have installed Windows 7 64-bit on the system, and that works fine too.

The only problem I have is that the graphics driver for the board (HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7), that is available from the download center, says: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" during installation. I would assume that it is not compatible with the CPU, as in the "Read Me" file, Xeon is not listed. This means that I have to work with default in-box drivers from the Windows 7 Installation.

What I find odd, is that it has exactly the same graphics (HD Graphics 2500) as the i3-3220 (which I am using with another DQ77KB board).

Is there any way to get WDDM graphics drivers to install for this setup?

I appreciate all help.

HD 4600 HDMI audio problem

Hi There,

I have a Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI board, with an Intel Core i3 4340 processor (with HD 4600 graphics). My PC is set up as a home theatre PC, and I'm really struggling with audio issues that I hope someone can help with.

The issue: Turning off the amp and turning it on again (or unplugging the HDMI cable then re-connecting) leads to a loss of sound through HDMI. An error appears (with a yellow triangle/exclamation mark) against the High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager which would appear to be the cause of the problem. Rebooting the PC seems to be the only way to get sound back.

Troubleshooting so far:

  • I have tried a variety of drivers, and as of today I'm currently using the recently released Win64_15338 drivers.
  • I have tried plugging the PC directly into my TV (Sony Bravia). This improves matters slighty, as the TV can be put to sleep or have power removed, and the audio returns when it is turned on again. Unplugging the HDMI cable leads to the same problem though.
  • I have tried another HDMI cable, which has had no impact.

Many thanks!

Chris

Problem with HDMI audio using intel hd 4600 graphics

Hello,

I've got a huge problem regarding my hdmi audio in my intel dq87pg board. The setup is the following:

HTPC  -> Displayport to HDMI Adapter -> Onkyo AV Receiver -> TV

OS is Windows 8.1, Graphic drivers etc. are the latest.

if the TV and the AV Receiver is on when I start the HTPC, everything works fine. But if it is switched off while booting, the computer does not find any hdmi audio device when the receiver is turned on later. The same happens when av receiver is on during boot and the sound works and I restart the AV reveiver or replug the cable in between.

I've tried nearly everything, different drivers, reinstall windows etc, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a solution?

Many regards

Florian

I have updated all the drivers and bios but any USB storage device I plug in either to the MB directly or thru the case aux ports show up in the device manager under disk drives with the yellow icon. In the "General Tab" I get "A driver (service) for this device has been disabled.  An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)" I have uninstalled devices, uninstall and reinstalled Renesas Drivers. What is the solution?

Hello all,

  • Windows 7 Ultimate x64
  • Intel DH67CF
  • Intel Core i3 2120T

What to do now? I'm very disappointed, spend a lot of time without effect.

I will return my motherboard and never buy an Intel motherboard again I've there is no solution available for this BIG problem.

I'm looking forward to a response from Intel.

NOTE: Intel Desktop Utility reports RAM-Speed with 1419 MHz but according to the BIOS its running with 1066 MHz.

The RAM-Modules are the Samsung one which Intel lists in his Hardware Compatibility Guide.

I have Windows 7 x64. PSU ist Enermax 800 Watt, graphiccard is a GTS 8600 or a HD 4750 (I changed both to ensure its not a GPU-Issue).

Memtest86+ runs 4 days without problem.

The system randomly freezes once in the week even if the PC does nothing - just running. "Freeze" means that I can't mouse the mouse or press any keys I have to hard-reset the system. Temperature is normal, processor never goes over 63 °C even if doing a 2 simultanous winrars with 10 GB.

I increase the RAm voltage from 1,5 to 1,6 as I read in some postings but this doesn't help.

What can I do to stop the "freezing"?

Greetings

Hi.

I  am using DG33FB mother board with  intel core 2 duo e6750 processor. I recently updated my bios to the most  updated version on the intel website using the exe file. Everyhting  went well, in the dos mode the bios update process was successfully  completed. System restarted automatically, and after that the system  does not boot , it doesnot go to the bios screen. It just shows a blank  screen with cursor on the top left. I tried the bios recovery mode but  that doesnot help. Now i can even go access the bios through the  configure mode jumper setting.

Please help, what can be  done.

I want to solve it on my own before taking it to  the hardware shop.

Thanks

DG33FB with BIOS problems

Friends,

First, I apologize for my knowledge of the English language.

It started with a memory upgrade RAM: 2 GB was with and put
4 more, and later migrate to 64-WIN 7.

When I put the two sticks of 2GB addition to the two sticks of 1gb
that he had, the board did not recognize anything in the B slot 2.

I went to the intel site and ready: I saw that it was necessary to update the BIOS, since
I was worried, but I knew I had an executable that own intel
was this: Great! I downloaded and ran the computer did not life ...

I went on Intel's website and saw how to load the BIOS again form
traditional Intel: removing the jumper and running a CD with the file
. BIO.

Wonderful! returned to live! I used Windows and even played! But when you
install new BIOS you have to go back to reconfigure some things like
access to HD or AHCP than IDE, etc ...

Restarted and I accessed the BIOS, did all the settings and ready, I sent
save and exit the BIOS ... was the last sign of intelligent life in the
computer.

Now all he does is start with no beep or sign of life on the monitor and
after 30 seconds, start again and then start again ... I
it starts as it tests the HD and DVD-ROM.

I looked in a manual way to reset the BIOS and even found the combination
the jumper for this, but only resets the password. I tried to install BIOS
new, but shooting the jumper, put the cd with. BIO and the computer is there,
paradão, without rebooting, without upgrading, with no error message in
screen for 10 minutes ...

Does anyone have a clue?

After BIOS upgrade the SPDIF is not working, DQ77KB

Hello,

after I did a BIOS upgrade on a new board DQ77KB I noticed that the SPDIF via the 3.5mm jack is not working any more.

I've found a similar discussion the it only works with BIOS 0048 so if Intel reply on that it would  be great as I don't want to downgrade the BIOS and need the S/PDIF to work.

Which internal SATA port works as an eSATA port on the DH98MC board?

I'm trying to get an external back up drive to hook up as as eSATA instead of USB.  According to the Intel description here:  Intel® Desktop Board DH67BL   ,one port will work as eSATA, but doesn't identify which port it is.  Thanks!  Jim.

DQ77MK does not boot automatically from SSD drive

$

My Intel DQ77MK board with an Intel Core i7-3770 does not boot automatically from a Crucial M4 64GB SATA-600 SSD drive with VMware ESXi 5.0.0U1 on it. Connecting it to another SATA port, changing the boot order or resetting the BIOS to defaults does not help. It does boot automatically from a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB SATA-300 drive with CentOS 6.3 on it. I can boot ESXi from the SSD using the boot menu F10.

Anyone else having this problem?
