Problem with HDMI audio using intel hd 4600 graphics

Hello,

I've got a huge problem regarding my hdmi audio in my intel dq87pg board. The setup is the following:

HTPC  -> Displayport to HDMI Adapter -> Onkyo AV Receiver -> TV

OS is Windows 8.1, Graphic drivers etc. are the latest.

if the TV and the AV Receiver is on when I start the HTPC, everything works fine. But if it is switched off while booting, the computer does not find any hdmi audio device when the receiver is turned on later. The same happens when av receiver is on during boot and the sound works and I restart the AV reveiver or replug the cable in between.

I've tried nearly everything, different drivers, reinstall windows etc, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a solution?

Many regards

Florian

USB 3.0 Drivers for DH87MC hangs Win7 x64 during image recovery

Installing USB_3.0_Win7_2.5.1.28 drivers breaks MS recovery, as mouse support is broken.

Without the above driver, mouse support functions in a fully patched install on Win7x64 - including during recovery from the OS GUI.

Simply installing the driver breaks mouse support on reboot from Win7, making the Win7 recovery option useless.

DH87MC Doesn't Boot with External USB Drives Connected

It seems as if this board DH87MC has difficulty dealing with the boot process if external USB drives are plugged in.  I have a mix of USB 2.0 and 3.0 external drives connected to a rear USB 2.0 port of the board.  The computer will get to the INTEL post screen (but without showing any function options eg. F2) then will "shut down" and come back up to the same screen.  Essentially it is an endless loop.  I can boot fine if I disconnect these drives and then plug them in after the boot process is complete.  However, this is not a solution because the rear ports are not easily accessible.

The board also seems to have a difficult time recognizing USB 2.0 flash drives when connected to USB 3.0 ports on the board (either through the rear USB 3.0 ports or USB 3.0 ports via the header on the board).  In some cases, the computer will crash when using the USB 2.0 flash drives plugged in to the these USB 3.0 ports.

I'm am hoping that a future BIOS update will fix these issues.

Updated info:  The most recent BIOS is installed and makes no difference.  Also, boot from USB devices is turned off in the BIOS.

DQ87PG Bios Support broken?

I have a new DQ87PG-Mainboard and tried to make it fit for Windows 8.1. On the Intel-Support-Site I found 6 Bios - Version 30, 35, 36, 121, 139 and 141.

My mainboard came with v. 30. I installed Win 8 and upgraded dirct to Win 8.1 - the PC worked well. Then I found Bios 139 with 8.1 support. I tried to flash Version 139 with all three methods - without succes, each with the same "FWUpdateFullBuffer" - error message. So I started to flash each version step by step. My results:

V 35 flash without error

V 36 flash without error

V 121 error - Bios file is not for DQ87PG, but for DB85FL Board

V 139 error FwUpdateFullBuffer

V 141 error FwUpdateFullBuffer

I'ts not my first experience with flashing mainboard, but I never hat such a number of problems.

The V 121 is more the a month on the support site, I found in an other discussion here a hint about this, but nothing happens.

I'm sure to maked a mistake by flashing the board! My system is plain vanilla:

DQ87PG Mainboard

I5-4670 Cpu

2*8 GB Kingston Memory

1 Samsung 849 EVO SSD-Drive

1 Plextor DVD-Drive

and it is quite good, stable an powerful.

The On board Diagnostic LED show 00. But system does not boot to OS. The display shows 0_ on right bottom. The same graphic card and other components are functional with Asus Rampage iv extreme. The BIOS ver is 553.

Kindly advice and help to find a solution.

DH87MC Problems with some Devices and the CIR

Hello,

besides the USB-Device-Problem in the other topic i have some other problems. I'll start with the CIR-problem:

One reason for me for buying an Intel-Board was the CIR-Device. I need it and there aren't many manufacturers supplying their boards with these. I have a connector cable with the correct receiver-device plugged in. But no matter what i do, i can't get it to work under windows 8.1. I surely tried to use the special driver (2.9.1007) for windows 8.1 but the installation fails with the message "Can't find CIR device!!". The Hardware for itself is working properly. I can switch on the computer with my ir-remote when it is turned off. But windows (a clean install) does not find the device.

One more thing: There are two more problems in my device-manager. One of them is called "PCI-Kommunikationscontroller (einfach)" in my german windows 8.1. I think it translates to something like "PCI-Communications-Controller (simple)" (PCI-Bus 0, Gerät 22, Funktion 0). In the device manager this device has this yellow sign and it is found unter "other devices". The Intel .inf-installer was installed.

The second device - also marked yellow and found under "other devices" is an "Intel(R) LPC Controller - 8C4A". I don't know what the devices are doing, but i would like to have them functioning properly. What can i do?

I attach a screenshot of the device manager and the two devices.

Many greetings from Germany

Tom

Rapid Start vs Rapid Storage vs Rapid Response, etc.

What is the difference between these? I am trying to configure Rapid Start but unable to install the Rapid Start software. I receive the error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements". The system is running Windows 8.1 x64 in UEFI mode on a DH87RL desktop board with BIOS version 0322. Rapid Start is enabled in the BIOS and hibernation is set to Immediate following the instructions below. I have an HDD and 60GB SSD. I want to use the SSD for rapid start. SATA mode is set to RAID. Once that was done I could start setup acceleration in Rapid Storage for the HDD using the SSD. It looks like Rapid Storage setup a RAID0 array using the HDD and SSD. Is this acceleration considered rapid start? When using the instructions below I could do everything but set the partition ID. When setting the ID the partition would change from 'System' to 'unknown' and the system could not find a boot volume. At this point I have the 'System' partition set on the SSD but the partition ID is not set. It was booting fine but then on boot the screen started to cycle on and off during POST and Windows would never load. If I turn off Fast Boot I get to the Windows boot screen with the circle but the system will not get to the login screen. It just sits there. Thoughts?

Right Click on Desktop causes Delay because of igfxsrvc.exe

Hello,

the process igfxsrvc.exe is apparently part of the Intel Common User Interface and in use/started when I perform a right click on the desktop which causes an annoying delay of about 2 seconds while opening the context menu.

What is that process for?

Can I disable it or is there another way to avoid the delay?

Serious UEFI issue with DZ87KLT-75K

Hi,

I recently bought a DZ87KLT-75K. given my previous experience with with the DZ77HB-55K I should have know better than to buy this board. None the less i did and now I'm stuck with Visual bios problems again.

seems that UEFI is broken with this board. It can see UEFI devices in the bios (F2) but cannot boot from them. it worked for 1 day then started to fail for no reason. I also tried using the boot menu (F10) the sdd is not listed there. I switched the disk to another board and there it boots with UEFI without issues. I also tried booting the win7 and win8 dvd roms in UEFI mode but could not. the boot menu does show UEFI network boot options.

I tried flashing al versions available on the website, none of them work. Load defaults several times. even flashed the bioses through recovery mode. No improvement. Remove cmos batter and wait 15 mins no result.

weird thing is that the UEFI devices are listed twice in the UEFI menu in the bios config (F2).  In the boot menu UEFI network boot options only become available if legacy boot is turned off.

there is something screwed up in the settings but there is no way to reset the bios to factory defaults. none of the things i tried does this. If I change the color settings for visual bios, do a load defaults, save,  remove the cmos battery but the scheme stays the same. There is simply no way to wipe the settings clean. some things remain present even after these steps.

the old visual bios had the option to go back to the real configuration screens, think it was called classic bios. That option is gone. how do i get it back ? i need access to the bios core so to speak not the confusing and buggy shell that has been build around it.

DH87RL Board Revision Questions

$

Hello...

I am new to the community.

I recently purchased an Intel Desktop Board DH87RL with the AA Code of G74240-401 and now I see revisions of the board numbered G74240-402 & G74240-403 are being discussed around the Internet.

I bought the board at: www.newegg.com

First question: I understand that the C1 Stepping of the board had a USB 3.0 Sleep / Resume Bug. If I never put my computer to sleep (always on and fully powered), will I have any trouble with using my USB 3.0 Drive? (IE: Plugging it in, transferring files, installing windows, unplugging it, etc..).

Second question: If there is trouble with the USB 3.0 Drive as the first question asks, how do I go about getting a newer revision of this motherboard? Do I send it back to Intel for a newer revision? My Online Retailer won't let me return it because I have opened the box, plus they tell me that they can't guarantee which revision they currently have in the warehouse for shipment.

Third question: If I do send it back to Intel, will I be guaranteed the newest revision or is the newest revision even available yet?

Please Help!

Thanks

Hi guys,

I've never really used the Grey Marvell SATA ports, but now I wanted to add another HDD and decided to and cannot for the life of me get them to work. Is there anything I need to do?

I have secondary SATA enabled in BIOS. And when I go to BIOS to see my sata ports, it only shows my Intel SSD connected to SATA 0 and doesn't show any of my connected drives.  It also does not show my grey SATA ports in BIOS?  Only shows SATA 0-5

Blue SATA 0: Intel 520 240gb SSD

Blue SATA 1: Seagate 1.5tb Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 2: 500gb Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 3: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 4: DVD Burner

Black SATA 5: Bluray Drive

Grey SATA 6: 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Grey SATA 7: Empty

I'm using:

OS: Windows 8.1  Pro 64bit

Motherboard: Intel DZ77GA-70K

BIOS Version: 0066

BIOS Mode: UEFI

Any help would be much appreciated as I want to get my new 3TB HDD working. Thanks

Mainboard DB65AL: Unvollständiges Booten nach WoL

$

Hi!

Doris

DZ77GAL-70K won't launch bios

My dad originally had this board in his machine with an i5 in it, but ended up switching to a different one so he gave it to me.

I put in a i7-3770K and 2 x 4gb Crucial DDR3 1866

It posts, it'll boot off USB, it runs memtest with no errors, but I can't get into the bios. If I hit F2 it says launching bios and then reboots. If I try to put it in configuration mode a blue screen comes up and tells me to put the jumper in the normal position. I tried updating the bios to 0064 (was 0063) but this did not fix the problem.

HD 4600 HDMI audio problem

$

Hi There,

I have a Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI board, with an Intel Core i3 4340 processor (with HD 4600 graphics). My PC is set up as a home theatre PC, and I'm really struggling with audio issues that I hope someone can help with.

The issue: Turning off the amp and turning it on again (or unplugging the HDMI cable then re-connecting) leads to a loss of sound through HDMI. An error appears (with a yellow triangle/exclamation mark) against the High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager which would appear to be the cause of the problem. Rebooting the PC seems to be the only way to get sound back.

Troubleshooting so far:

  • I have tried a variety of drivers, and as of today I'm currently using the recently released Win64_15338 drivers.
  • I have tried plugging the PC directly into my TV (Sony Bravia). This improves matters slighty, as the TV can be put to sleep or have power removed, and the audio returns when it is turned on again. Unplugging the HDMI cable leads to the same problem though.
  • I have tried another HDMI cable, which has had no impact.

Many thanks!

Chris
