DH61CR Bricked after attempting bios update

Hello Everyone. First, sorry for my bad english. I will try to be as clear as possible.

A few days ago, it came to my hands a DH61CR mainboard with a installed Core i5 2400. The owner of this motherboard wanted to use it with a R7 250x VGA, wich did not seem to be compatible with his mb. I tested it, and what he told me it was true indeed. Then i decided to update the MB BIOS. The bios version installed was 0016, the update 0048. For more safety in the process, i tried to flash it from DOS. I said "tried" because the update never finished: as the process started, the machine REBOOTED BY ITSELF, with no iteraction or question. The result was a no video/ no boot motherboard. My searching for repairing methods bring me to this forum, so i tried EVERYTHING i read to recover it. The thing is that the recovery method (by USB or CD) never finish. I take off the CMOS battery and the jumper. The process seems to start with no video (it doesn´t matter) but keeps reading the USB device endlessly with no change. Is there any other method to do a recovery? or is a dead MB already?

Thank you very much in advance!

DH55TC not detecting Nvidia 660Ti

Hello,

I recently acquired an EVGA 660Ti (02g-p4-3660-kr).

It's running BIOS version 80.04.4b.00.60 which is the pre-loaded BIOS.

The card works fine on a newer test motherboard, however, does not work on my PC's motherboard (Intel DH55TC).

I have tested other graphics cards with my motherboard and they work fine.

I have also tested my PSU to make sure that the PSU is not the issue as well as setting my BIOS to use PCI-E (PEG) as the default graphics output, however the motherboard cannot detect the card.

I updated BIOS to the latest (0048). There was a BIOS update prior to this that resolved graphics cards not being detected, however Intel may have missed something here.

I flashed a firmware that supports UEFI using my test motherboard, but that doesn't help either. I flashed it back.

I also tried resetting the CMOS (with and without the card installed) and that didn't help either.

The card isn't detected in Windows as it is not detected even in BIOS.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Intel DQ45CB BIOS corrupted?

$

I have a problem with the DQ45CB's BIOS.

Yesterday I changed the video output ( from BIOS ) to "inboard" and then I can't see anything, so i tried to:

  • change the BIOS jumper position from "normal" to "configure" following Intel guides without success.
  • clear CMOS by removing battery ( for 1 hour ) without success.
  • unplug RAM and I get 3 beeps ( that might be good, right? )
  • Follow this guide -> Recovery BIOS Update Instructions for Intel® Desktop Boards but without success.

What's happened to my board?

Now if I boot my system I don't get the single beep that mean "BIOS ready to accept input" , is my BIOS corrupted?

Intel DP35DP black screen, can't boot

Hi!

I have a Intel DP35DP (latest bios), intel X3360 and 8GB RAM(4*2GB). Just switched to Q9550S & the error started. Tried out to boot with E6550, no luck!

The PC worked great until several days ago. Now it just boot onto a black screen (with an underline in the top left corner).

I tried to reinstall the BIOS (wtih the ISO image from CD-ROM and the bios jumper out) but it does help as it doesn't boot BIOS at all.

I removed the cmos battery for over an hour, etc.

Also, put the PC Analyser card, which hangs on step EB:

Port 80h POST Codes for Intel® Desktop Boards

or "calling legacy option ROM". What does that mean?

Tried to disconnect the CD-ROM, no luck.

What can I do now?

Thanks,

Luka

Just purchased a new DH61AG to replace my ECS G24 Aura AIO w/3770s and 16 GB Ram and SSD (H61H2-TI fried) Was running Win10 Pro x64, updated new board to BIOS 109 (was 40), selected "ECS 21" in AIO BIOS dropdown menu, bios warns alert of "incorrect settings and possible damage to AIO Hardware and flat panel monitor" (10 point touch, works great), "ECS 24" not an option in drop down, and can not locate specs or data to manually input criteria to get rid of warning. I lowered LED background from brightest to neutral in BIOS and in OS lowered display setting to dim setting.  Otherwise system seems to work fine, anyone else have this or a similar issue?  Solutions? Ideas?

Windows 10 will not boot into UEFI mode

I just got a new WD Blue SSD (250GB) and I went for a clean slate, so I ran the windows installer from a microSD card (and adapter) and tried installing, couldn't do it (more reasons soon)

I found out that there were exceptions and hurdles to doing it this way, so I ran to the store to get a DVD-R and install like that.

Also did not work correctly, because I didn't boot the DVD in UEFI mode (I can't install windows 10 onto the SSD at all without GPT/UEFI mode)

So, finally got windows installed after that (seems easy here, but this took hours) and now Intel's DZ68DB Motherboard flat out refuses to boot the newly installed Windows installation.

The partitions are all GPT, UEFI is enabled, so is AHCI, no other drives are active when I'm trying to boot it (I have even disconnected the DVD drive to attempt to get this to work)

No matter what I do, I can't boot into windows directly (There is a "P0" option next to the disk, but no "UEFI")

The Windows Boot Manager just flashes the screen, as in, I select it, and the screen flashes, then the drive list is there. It seems to just fail to launch the boot manager for unknown reasons.

So there it is. At this point, I'm either going to be blaming the SSD itself (chkdsk from Windows Installer says nothing is wrong with it, and I've personally be able to write/read to it without issues) or the motherboard.

I am not sure why I can't force this to boot in UEFI mode, or why the windows boot manager won't launch, but I'm at the end of my rope and thinking about buying a new motherboard at this point.

Anybody know why this is happening?

Don't upgrade your BIOS after warranty, old BIOSes on Intel page are faulty and it will destroy your motherboard!

Stay away from upgrading BIOS on old motherboards, Intel hacked BIOS files and it will destroy your hardware!

2017-07-14 MIB - 01 Windows 10 Disk Install ERROR.PNG

Windows Setup

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

Some pointers:

Neither post is available for comment thus this one.

What finally worked:

  1. Set up RAID in RSTe (CTRL+I)
  2. Set BIOS Boot Mode to UEFI
  3. Plug in ISO mount type enclosure with Win10 ISO mounted (we use StarTech S2510BU3ISO)
  4. NOTE: I had to use the USB2 ports as the USB3 ports did not power the enclosure during boot
  5. F10 during POST
  6. Choose DVDROM - UEFI (name may vary)
  7. Click through and choose ADVANCED Setup
  8. Click on the RAID array logical disk for the OS
    1. NOTE: If any MBR partitions exist they need to be cleaned prior to this step
    2. Use DiskPart in Repair --> CMD
  9. Click NEXT

That should do it!

Failed Bios!! Bricked!Help!!!

Niveus Sierra edition media server with intel oem board DGM965RA. Pci nvidia video card, and oem custom front and back panel interface boards with integrated usb hubs.

- pre niveus vail prototype/beta unit that i picked up - I got it all tweaked out and ready to run with a blu ray, ac wireless, 2TB storage hdd, and an oem niveus image loaded onto a 128gb ssd.  All worked great until i swapped out the ram with pc6400 and tried changing the bios mem speed ad timings to run the mem faster. I bricked it! Cannot recover the bios - normal bios recovery steps cannot recover. no way, no how.  Intel support pawned me off to the oem. Niveus is defunct! A lesser version of the board is used in Gateway AIO gz series and zx190. But no bios downloads exist anywhere. And it is useless since the unit has NO video output and NO inputs active sind the bios crash... no usb, etc working. Im hoping for any help with any info on this board.. engineering integration manual, etc. that may identify any on board vga gfx output, and any user interface usb, ps2 etc that i might hope to exploit and get a display and keyboard working with. the board seems to still boot to a default mode - all case and gfx fans run hi and it reads cd rom. But without i/o i cannot modify bios settings, or flash any replacement bios and/or cmos flash even if i could get any files. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. Thanks,  Dave, Seattle

3rg Gen processor on a 2nd Gen Board

I have installed a 3rd Generation chip (Intel Core i3 3240) on this board (Intel Q65 Express)before checking the compatibility, and the computer beeped 4 or 5 times, then I shut it down.   Then I installed the original chip (Intel Core i3 2130) on the board and powered it on, the computer starts, and turn on the normal lights (power, memory, lan, etc) but it is not showing any image and the usb ports are not working (mouse and keyboard are not showing any lights like num lock, caps lock and the mouse laser). Is the board damaged? What can I do?

DQ57TM Chassis Intrusion

I have recently put a budget system together with a pre used DQ57TM motherboard. All works fine, but at each boot I get a Chassis Intrusion warning, despite the fact that it is disabled in the BIOS.

Does this suggest a fault with the board (which I can live with) or is there something I could do to stop this warning message coming up?
