Hangs at Intel Splash Screen

$

I've had this Intel DG31PR MB for at least a year, maybe more, and a few months ago, when I would restart the computer, either from windows, or hit the restart button on the computer itself, it will stop at the intel splash screen and just stay there... forever.  If I push the power button and turn the computer completely off, it will start fine, it's just in the restart mode, it hangs at that splash screen and won't go any further.  I haven't noticed any other problems, and this one doesn't seem significant, but it is beginning to bother me and I would like to make sure I fix something before it breaks.

The processor is an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2200, not sure what other information I can give you to make sure I provide all significant information.  I don't believe it is the operating system as it did it when I had Windows xp and it is still doing it with Windows 7.

Any advice?  Please?

6 month old Intel DX79SR suddenly hates all ram, constant b7 error on LED. Using certified ram, it sees the ram, no beep codes, but refuses to boot at all, just loops. Appears to be a very common problem with this series. Is a new board the only fix?

I have a DX79SR that hates all ram.  I bought the unit 6 months ago, new from Newegg, and I came home from the gym yesterday and it was looping, and throwing a b7 error code at me.  I have tested it will several different dimms, and it sees the ram, but just refuses to post. All I get is a b7 with every single stick.  If I put ram in a different slot than slot 1, I get beeps, if I have no ram, I get beeps.  From everything I have read online, this is an extremely common issue with this board, and the only way to fix it, appears to be a brand new board from Intel.  What's amazing is that b7 isn't even listed on the "official" error codes and I had to search other forums to find this information.  Does anyone else here have experience with fix this code without having to get a new board from Intel?  I can't afford the downtime on my personal rig, and waiting 2+ weeks for a replacement is literally out of the question.

Cannot clear DX79SI password

Folks,

I've got a second hand DX79SI. Previous owner has set a BIOS password, and I can't figure out how to clear it. The board doesn't react to the BIOS_CFG jumper, in both positions (1-2 or 2-3) just reports "The system chassis was opened. Enter password to unlock the system." Removing the jumper completely leads to recovery mode.

I've tried to short the Intrusion header with a jumper, but nothing has changed, the behaviour is still the same.

Any suggestions? Does the BIOS recovery update clear passwords?

Please note I can't even boot to DOS/EFI shell thus I can't use any tools.

I'd be grateful for any hints!

Jakub

It turns out port 664 is being used by Intel AMT, however it supports SSLv2/3 etc; Can you get SSLv2/3 and RC4 Cipher suites disabled, and only use TLS1.1/1,2 for AMT?

Can't remote to Intel AMT WebUI from Windows 10 based workstations

Hi Support,

We are in the process of deploying Intel AMT to all our end points.

  • We use Intel SCS 11 (the latest which is compatible with ConfigMgr 1511)
  • We are provisioning the computers using the ConfigMgr Task Sequence
  • Everything work but connecting to https://FQDN:16993 using Windows 10 based workstations

I know when you use a Windows 7 based workstation, there is a registry key to set in order to be able to use the integrated Windows Authentication with AD for WebUI... The registry key is:

  • FEATURE_INCLUDE_PORT_IN_SPN_KB908209
  • Dword: iexplore.exe = 1

This is great as it works on Windows 7 workstation... the problem that we are having is our customer is in the progress of migrating to Windows 10 and that registry key tweak does not work with Windows 10 based computer which is creating us big headache.

Does anyone of you have the solution to let us login to https://FQDN:16993 using Windows 10 based computer.

Our IE in Windows 10 has the "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" box checked.

Hi

I have a number of DX79TO and DX79SR boards with E5-2680 XEON CPUs, these should be 2.70Ghz (as shown in the image), we have NO overclocking, the whole board is factory, however you can see it says "Overridden Processor SPeed is 2.00Ghz, so why is this?

How do we get this to be the speed the CPU should be?

Password forgotten for Windows , changed bios settings

Hi, I changed a bios setting...I added a bios password and can remember it. Thats ok, I can get into the bios. But I changed a bios security setting to View Only.

I also added a Windows 7 password and have forgotten it. I did not make a password floppy disk. How do I reset the computer to clear the Windows7 passsword? I tried clearing the CMOS but the passwords did not clear.

Now, written on the black screen is,

"Enter password to unlock the system"   ...3 lines are reading the same words...

Password check failed.

Please refer to the Product Guide at Http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/

Fatal Error...System halted.

I get passed this message into the bios using the password, it is only the Windows7 password I forgot and can not enter Windows operating system.

How do I reset the Admin Bios password on a DQ77KB board.

Am trying to reset the Admin Bios password on a DQ77KB board have tried shorting pins 1+2 on MEBX. And also removing the battery and shorting power for 10 seconds, just can't get rid of the password.

The Bios is locked down can't even change the time / Date. There must be a way of getting back to factory default.

DX58SO wrong memory multiplier

I'd like to start of by saying that i am bringing my question from Tom's Hardware forums. Basically, i was trying to overclock my system, but i got into a problem where, having a BCLK of 160MHz (the problem happens with all BCLK frequencies), if i set the memory multiplier to 6, the bios would tell me that the memory speed would be 6*160 = 960MHz, which, theoretically, is correct. However, when i boot into Windows 10 and open CPU-Z and HWiNFO, they both show me a memory speed of 640MHz, and not 480MHz like it should. HWiNFO even tells me i have a memory multiplier of 4, and not 3 as the BIOS told me. Here are my PC specs:

CPU: Intel i7 920 (no power saving features enabled)

Motherboard: Intel Smackover DX58SO

RAM: 2*Kingston 9905471-009.A00LF and 1*Kingston 99U5474-026.A00LF

Here are some pictures (1st one is from HWiNFO summary)

06.14.2016-20.31.png

06.14.2016-20.32.png

06.14.2016-20.32%20(1).png

06.14.2016-20.33.png

Update: Setting the uncore multiplier anywhere from 12 to 15 seems to force the memory multiplier to 6 (HWiNFO is showing 3 instead of the 4 in the screenshot above), probably because the motherboard wants to meet the condition of the Bloomfield processors which need the uncore multiplier to be at least 2 times the memory multiplier. However, as soon as i set the uncore multiplier to 16+, the memory multiplier goes back up to 8 even though i have set it to 6 in the bios. I really want to set the uncore multiplier to 20 and the memory multiplier to 6. Can anyone help me please?

Update 2: I have tried removing the different DIMM and putting both of the identical sticks of ram on channel A but the exact same problem occured...

Update 3: Even if you don't have the exact solution to my problem, just shoot some things i could do to maybe get closer to the solution. Anything helps!

Two "BIOS CONFIG" jumpers in DX58SO?

Hello, i was wondering what is the purpose of the second bios config jumper on my motherboard. Beside it, there is written "bios config", "OC DEBUG", and a little table like this:

J7LBMODE

1-2

Normal
2-3Config
No jmpRCVRY

This 3-pin block does not have any jumper on it, nor do i see any in google pictures of my motherboard. There is indeed a jumper on the other one, the one at the complete bottom of the motherboard and it is set to pins 1-2. The board came with only 1 jumper setup like i described. I would like to know what the second bios config jumper does.

Question on D865GLC motherboard.

Can a former Gateway bios BF 86510A.15A.0043.P07.0308011434 be reflashed to a BF86510A.86A.0077.P25.0508040031 standard intel bios?  The Intel flash software is looking for the second number group to be 86A, when it sees a 15A here,

it doesn't match what it wants and won't flash it.  The board is an intel board, I think it was in a gateway computer and

they used their own bios.  I'd like to turn it back into a standard intel bios.  Any way to do this ?

HyperX Fury 8gb Hx318c10fb/8 running on Intel DP67BG up to 32gb

Hi everyone

I want to update my system up to 32gb RAM (4x8gb), my motherboard is an Intel DP67BG, theoreticatly it supports:

• Four 240-pin Double Data Rate 3 (DDR3) SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets with gold-plated contacts arranged in two channels

• 2133 MHz to 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM Memory Modules
• Support for single- and dual-channel memory interleaving
• Unbuffered, non-registered single- or double-sided DIMMs with a voltage rating of 1.65 V or less.
• Non-ECC DDR3 memory
• Serial Presence Detect (SPD) memory only
• Up to 32 GB maximum total system memory using 8 GB DIMMs

I was told that the Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb DDR3 1866Mhz 240-pin (model no. Hx318c10fb/8) is compatible with the DP67BG, but i can't check it anywhere.

Can you tell me if these are compatible and work well with 32gb RAM (4x8gb)? I want to check that the HyperX model I mentioned is Non-ECC and is in fact a SPD memory.

Thanks in advance.
