Intel Rapid Storage Technology

I have a home-built system running the DH77EB board, Ivy Bridge i7, 8GB RAM, WIndows 8 Release Preview, Radeon HD7870 and a Samsung 830SSD.

I saw that the most recent 11.6 version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver now lists Windows 8 compatibility, the prior 11.4 version worked on Windows 8 but did not list Windows 8 compatibility.  I went ahead and installed 11.6, but it does not appear to start - the icon in the system tray says Intel RST service is not running, and when I click on it to launch the app, nothing happens.  I checked the error log and this is what I see:

Has anyone else had this issue with 11.6?

dz87klt-75k struggle is real

sad to discover the end of intel's desktop boards was a reality. but regardless i wanted one to take that leap to 1150 since my 750 media series board is still going strong for a decade! almost went with EVGA or ASUS, but i found a single remaining dz87klt floating around on amazon with IO shield only. no boxes, software, or accessories. although it's bare bones for me this was a no brainer to sacrifice current generation to at least have an intel board... a board that's basically non existent... a ghost!

it was a struggle just to even find one, and now it's more of a struggle to get it operational.

got everything installed; i7-4771; 32GB 1600 RAM; 1TB HDD; 500w PSU; 1GB pci express card (since it was posting a video error)

turn the machine on with OS disk it hangs on POST CODE "15" no splash

run in bios mode using the red button i get POST CODE "EB" splash & menu are visible but keyboard is unresponsive (both USB & PS2)

pull the bios jumper and try to emergency flash bios 336 with USB it hangs on POST CODE "06"

if i try the exact same thing with bios 457 i think it hangs back on POST CODE "EB" or "15" again

if i pull ram or drives on next boot it will text that it noticed a change, but i still cannot hit enter and proceed to bios.

i had a similar issue with dp35dp trying to run a quad core, i had to reinstall core duo just to install a bios to recognize the quad core chip. however, all the processors in the compatibility list for dz87klt claim min bios "336"... is that what the board ships with? how could i update the bios if all the chips have same min bios? i feel like i'm taking crazy pills!

Hello everyone!

I am connecting a PS/2 keyboard into a USB adapter, but the system and the BIOS does not recognize the keyboard. (I tried two different models of keyboards, no work).

Could tell me if the DB85FL motherboard recognizes this procedure?

follows some attached pictures to help explain:

Hi,

I am about to reconstruct my PC trying to purchase"

Intel core processor I7-6700K

what type of mother board do u recommend for best fit?

I am having problems posting to BIOS with a DX79SI intel branded board.

Can any one help me, I recently purchased a DX79SI motherboard intel branded.

I also purchased an i7 3820 processor which according to the intel compatibility page is fine and should run with no problems.

I then purchased 16gb of Kingston hyper savage RAM 4x4gb. running at 1600mhz 1.5v.

I found this is not on the compatibility page, so I checked what ram WILL work and then purchased the recommended ram.

The problem I am getting is that the system WILL NOT post to bios. I can not get any picture on my screen. I have tried different GPU's to no avail, I have also tried different monitors.

The problem I'm getting is the 6th LED from the left at the bottom of the board lights up on start up and starts to flash. I have discovered that this light is the memory initialisation light and should go steady once memory initialisation has completed.

However this is not the case and the computer just shuts off a few seconds after start up and before that light goes solid.

I have tried an array of different combinations of memory in the system from 1 RAM stick at a time in each socket, to 4 ram sticks, to 2 AND I have tried all the dim sockets.

when a RAM stick is inserted into the any of the black dimm sockets (5-8) with nothing in the blue dimm sockets (1-4) a different light shows, which I have identified as the 'watch dog timer'. this light is to the left of the green standby light at the bottom of the board. It flashes red and the memory light continues to flash as well and it remains that way until I manually switch off the pc by holding the power button.

Please can somebody shed some light on this issue for me. I have also checked and found that this motherboard I have that was made early Feb 2012 has the correct BIOS version for the 3820 CPU installed. I have tried using the 'back to BIOS' switch located by the on board USB sockets, I have also tried the jumper and putting it into recovery state and still Nothing seems to get it working.

The LCD code that shows at all times goes through its cycle then goes to 00 just before the pc restarts, that is only when dimm 1 or 2 are populated if it is any of the others that makes the dog timer come on then the code that shows and remains on is 60.

please can someone help, I have just spent hundreds of pounds on this set up and at the moment all it is, is a super expensive dust collector.

Motherboard S5520SCR with new Quadro

Hi,

I need to change my graphic card which was a Geforce GTX480 and is dead.

I would like to put a Quadro K4200 or M4000 and I don't know if it is compatible with the motherboard.

My provider asked Intel a week ago and no answer.

Can somebody help me, my station is out of order and I need to work.

Thanks a lot.

What consumer options are there for using the eDP connector on the DQ77KB?

$

I realize this "embedded" option is meant for flat panel displays (as with LVDS).  Still... I haven't been able to find any examples of using this connector in a typical consumer configuration, i.e. real world, day-to-day, regular, accessible use.  There has been a bunch of greatwork by individuals who have built PCBs to adapt eDP/panel connectors to more consumer-friendly connectors (DisplayPort/HDMI).  There is also the Intel eDP whitepaper that details exactly what I am looking for -- an eDP-to-DP cable, but (a) the cable does not seem to be generally available to consumers (just a lab mock-up?) and (b) there is a report of a possible error in the m/b docs... so doesn't seem like strong evidence there of reliable use.

I haven't found any way to make use of the 40-pin eDP connector on the DQ77KB.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I would love to make use of it for a third display.

Intel D5400XS Skulltrail with recent graphics cards?

$

Hello together,

I am fiddling around with some quite old Intel Desktop-Board, the D5400XS "Skulltrail".
I love this board so much, since it was my "dream" as a child, but i could never afford it. So i bought one some months ago and started a case- and system-modding project like "Anno 2008: Skulltrail in 2016?"

This project is nearly finished, but i ran into trouble with two major points:

- The board won't let me upgrade to Windows 10, because it says my CPUs (2x Intel X5470) are not supporting "CompareExchange128", which has something to do with the 64bit-support (?). Indeed, the CPUs are supporting this operation, on the one hand because Intel is listing those as compatible in the specification sheet and these CPUs are running Windows 10 quite well in another mainboard. This seems to be some BIOS-related issue?

- I want to combine this system with a recent graphics card, the Powercolor Radeon R9 390 PCS+ 8GB (tested in another PC and running well). When the graphics card is installed, all is running fine but the system does not recognize any system drive anymore?! There are two SSDs in my system and they are not deteced anymore after this graphics card is installed. Because of this, booting is not possible anymore. With the previously installed card, a Sapphire Radeon R9 270X, everything is running fine including SSD detection. How can that be possible? Those two cards are similiar on chip-level so why does the one card run and the other one does not?

Can those two problems be adressed with a BIOS-Update? Is anyone able to do this for me? The latest BIOS-version is already installed so there is no possibility for me to continue without having someone being able to program an update here...
I would love to get this machine running...

Thank you so much in advance for your thoughts and your help!

With best regards from Germany,
StarGeneral
