dq87pg: ignore UEFI BootXXXX variables
Hello,
Intel motherboard dq87pg ignore/corrupt all UEFI BootXXXX/BootOrder variables except last one set.
So if you install Windows then Linux you've got in boot menu (F10) only Linux (grub) and if you installed Linux then Windows you've got only Windows Boot Manager by F10.
It appears to be worked well only in origin firmware ver. 0030, but in 0035,036 it was broken by ignoring UEFI variables. Also if you reflash the same motherboard (0035/0036) with both installed Win/Linux with origin 0030 firmware you've got all announced OSes in boot menu (F10) back(!). So it's just ignoring then and seen then only in ver. 0030
Version 014x corrupts previous set BootXXXX variables when you set new one. When you set new BootXXXX var via efibootmgr it's ok, but when you reboot and check it again with efibootmgr -v, you will see corrupted device path in all variables. So you've got again only one OS in boot menu (F10)
Also it's reproduces for all four motherboards in my hands
Changing bios configurations
what changes are required to make in bios(version SA86510A.86A.1024.2006.0504.1017 also my board model is D865GSA) in order to make it boot windows 7 installation usb. I had booted ubuntu using usb in same pc, but windows 7 usb gives error("disk read error occured press ctrl+alt+del to restart"). There is no problem with usb or the iso as it(usb) can boot on ther pc's and i had verified the checksum of the iso.
INTEL DH87RL : Unable to enter BIOS
I have purchased an Intel DH87RL motherboard and I have never been able to enter its BIOS.
On pressing F2 on boot, it just freezes till I hit the reset button on the CPU. F7 doesn't work either.
I know the keyboard is working since F10 option to enter the boot menu works.
I have tried out the following:
1. Removed CMOS battery for 12 hrs with CMOS jumper removed.
2. Tried connecting keyboard to the USB 3.0 port near HDMI port, USB on the front, as well as USB 2.0 ports.
3. Tried long pressing the power button( till 3 beeps)... the options appear but on pressing F2 or F7, system hangs and I have to reset the CPU.
4. Updated the BIOS version to 322. Still no use.
5. Replaced CMOS battery.
6. reseated the RAM.
7. Reseated the SATA connector of HDD to other ports (from port 0 to port 1) on motherboard
8. went to windows 7 from windows 8 ( not needed, i know!!)
9. Re-flashed BIOS( from windows )
My configuration is as follows:
i5 processor i5-4570
Kingston (1 X 4GB) 1600MHz RAM
Cooler Master 600W Thunder PSU
Cooler Master K281 cabinet
Seagate Maxtor 500GB 5200RPM HDD
Display out through HDMI to Sharp Aquos TV( Intel HD4600 unable to output the correct resolution to this TV)
Is the motherboard faulty?
Any support in this regard would be really appreciated.
With Regards,
Karthik K
DQ965GF black screen after "flash"
Today I updated the Intel DQ965GF board in my htpc to the latest BIOS (old one was from 2006) and now it doesn't boot.
I tried flashing in DOS but it would just hang on a blue screen (might be something to do with AMT security), and when I tried flashing in Windows it told me to reboot, and when it went down and came back up I got nothing. I got a blank screen for a few seconds and then no signal.
I try doing the BIOS recovery (via jumper) but I get no signal for about 5-10 minutes until I get a blank screen. Usually there should be things going on here like the illustration on Intel's site, but there is nothing. I tried two romfiles, a SATA drive, an IDE drive, DVD, CD, USB flash drive, FAT32, FAT, NTFS, everything. I could only get it to go to the blank screen with a USB flash drive (even though the manual said CDs)
Not many blinkenlights which is a bit worrying.
Help *very* appreciated (as usual)

525 msata SSD not recognized by DH87MC
I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 running without any problems for about a month on a system based on DH87MC with 8GB ram, Samsung 840 pro, and WD 1TB Green.
Yesterday, I installed a 180GB 525 ssd on the msata port planning to move the boot partition from the Samsung ssd to the 525. Intel Data Migration failed to install complaining that no Intel SSD was present.
After powering down the system and re-seating the 525, I entered the bios to verify that the 525 was displayed. Data Migration again failed to install. I rebooted the system. This time the bios showed the msata was “not installed”. I powered down the system again, disconnected the Samsung ssd and the WD hard drive, leaving only the DH87MC, 8GB ram, the 525, and optical drive.
After verifying that the 525 is showed on the bios, I tried to install the OS, Windows 7 Ultimate x64, directly on the 525. The installation failed at “Copying files 0%” and “Expanding files 1%” with an error message stating that the files are missing. I redid the whole power down thing and retry the installation with a different installation dvd. This time Windows 7 installation showed that some partitions have already been created. I deleted the partitions and retry the installation. It again failed at the same point.
After several tries with similar dismal results, I gave up. I removed the 525, reconnected the Samsung 840 pro and WD hard drive, and the system booted up without any problems. Actually I am typing this message on the same computer that had trouble recognizing the 525 ssd. I thought of getting the ssd exchanged but after searching online and learning that other users have reported similar issues with DH87MC and the 525 ssd, I decided to post here for Intel's advice.
Best regards,

DH55hc with I3-540 proc can't install OS
I just picked up a DH55HC mobo w I3-540 proc. I installed OCZ- 4gb PC3 memory w a 500w supply. Have a WD Caviar 1TB SATA-3g and Lite-on SATA DVD/RW optic drive. Slapped everything together ok with no problems. To fire up the system I installed my XP Win Pro and the system stops after the drivers load, "Setup is starting Windows". Should the default bios at least get me up? Am I missing something? I don't mind reading some other link that might help me through this. This is my first thread so thanks for the pointers.

Intel® Desktop Board DZ77SL-50K PCI & PCI E Use Same IRQ
Hi,
I have purchased "Intel® Desktop Board DZ77SL-50K" on which i have connected One PCI Openvox 8 Port Analog Card and one PCI-E Openvox 8 Port Analog Card on my Asterisk Elastix Version # 1.8 Lunix Server. For some reason when make & receive calls, i get lots of noise disturbance. When I check Cat / proc / interrupts from root. I found
CPU0 CPU1 CPU2 CPU3
90 : 46010866 10326340 0 0 IO-APIC-LEVEL OPVXA1200, OPVXA24xx
I upgraded Dahdi drivers & card Drivers. To resolve temporary, I have to connect extra available Openvox 8 Port Card on another PCI Card, now it shows different IRQ
CPU0 CPU1 CPU2 CPU3
90 : 46010866 10326340 0 0 IO-APIC-LEVEL OPVXA1200 (PCI), OPVXA24xx (PCI-E)
169 : 66010866 45426340 0 0 IO-APIC-LEVEL OPVXA1200.(PCI)
Then I only use PCI-E from First 1 Line and PCI from Second to continue our system running, I spoked to many asterisk or linux experts, they said its problem with Motherboard issue. They will well support you.
Im looking for a solution configuration or setting either from Intel Motherboard Bios or OS Linux setting Configuration to have PCI or PCI-E Card own seperate IRQs for each card.
Please help me, Thanks in Advance

DZ77BH-55K intel 7 series c216 chipset family sata ahci controller
Hello,
I recently received a replacement DZ77BH-55K board from Intel and have been having issues with the Intel Sata 3 (6GBs) ports not working with my new Sandisk Extreme pro SSD.
Firstly, I was unable to install Win7 onto my new SSD with it connected to the Marvel or Intel Sata 3 ports - the SSD either wasn't displayed or it wouldn't allow me to install Win7 to it. I anticipated this because this occurred on the board I have had replaced, so I simply fitted it to the INTEL Sata 2 port(s). Once installed, I played around with trying to boot with the SSD connected to the INTEL Sata 3 ports. It didn't matter whether it was port 0 or port 1, sometimes the SSD wasn't listed in BIOS and when it was, I received a Disk Read Error after the splash screen when it tried to boot.
The SSD boots successfully every time when it is connected to the Sata 2 ports. Sometimes, when I remove the intel 7 series c216 chipset family sata ahci controller driver whilst the SSD is in the Sata 2 port, reboot and allow windows to locate and re-install the controller, I shut the PC down, reattach the SSD cable to the INTEL Sata 3 port(s) and it boots successfully - but this is only when it feels like it. For example, it may boot and reboot (boot from restart) successfully all day, whilst connected to the INTEL Sata 3 port. But when I shut my PC down for the night and boot up again in the morning, the boot fails and I am forced to connect back to the Sata 2 port(s).
So I presume it is a drive issue. On the Intel download page for my mobo, there is no specific drive for the Intel 7 series C216 chipset family Sata AHCI controller. The current driver is version 9.3.0.1029 dated 25/07/2013. On the DZ77BH-55K drive page, there is nothing listed with that driver date, which is curious.
Incidentally, when the SSD is connected to the Marvel Sata 3 ports, even stranger things happen. Sometimes it takes an age to reach the splash screen, but boots successfully, sometimes it doesn't boot at all.
Also, the my SSD firmware is up to date, and there are no reported occurrences of this SSD having these issues. The curious thing is, when it does boot whilst connected to the Sata 3 port(s), it is actually a few seconds slower than with the SSD connected to the Sata 2 port(s).
This is now my third replacement board from Intel, so any help or advice in this matter would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
EDIT:
I have managed to update the AHCI driver using the latest RAID driver. Unfortunately, this has not resolved the problem, and now the SSD is not even detected by the BIOS when connected to the Intel Sata 3 ports. But the boot remains sucessful when connected to the Intel Sata 2 ports.
Disable S5 deep sleep for WoL on D525MW
Hello! I've got a D525MW (AAE93082-401) with the latest BIOS installed.
I've tried enabling the "Wake on LAN on S5 state" feature from the BIOS menu, but I'm not able to let the computer wake on magic packet sent. I think the problem is that when I shutdown the computer, it goes to S5 state on deep sleep mode, because the ethernet card shuts down, too.
I've setup the OS to enable this feature (via ethtool, the WoL enabled and set to "g").
Is there anything I've missed? I see no option at all about deep sleep on my BIOS.
Thanks
Intel D425KT Desktop Board Onboard Audio Device Not Working
Hi Team,
I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate in my desktop. Its having a D425KT motherboard. Onboard audio is enabled in bios. Still its not being detected by the OS. I have installed the below driver files. Also I have tried using the Intel Driver Update Utility Installer. Still no luck.
- INF_allOS_9.2.0.1030
- LAN_allWin7_7.017_PV_RTL
- GFX_Win7_32_15.12.75.50.7.2230_PV_Intel
- AUD_allOS_11.50.0.43969_PV
below is the output of the board id tool.
Below is the device manager screen.
Appreciate your help on resolving this.
Intel Smart Response Technology Issue
I recently had this working perfectly until I upgraded to new hard drives. So I understand the process of how to set everything up. Make sure you are in Raid in bios, install windows, tell the program you want to use your SSD to boost your HDD. (The process in a nutshell). So down to the problem.
I open up the Intel Rapid Storage Technology program.
I click the Accelerate tab.
I go down to the "Enable acceleration" link and click it.
It ask me for my settings, I select them. (Fairly simple with one SSD and one HDD.)
-I chose Full disk and Maximized mode in case anyone is curious. I also tried all the combinations to see if it would work any other way.
I then click the "OK" button.
This is where the issue is.
It brings me back to the Accelerate tab saying:
Accelerated device: None Select device
Acceleration mode: None
BUT, the SSD is cached.
The little bit of trouble shooting I attempted was:
-Restart the computer (obvi).
-Reinstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology program.
System Specs:
Asus Maximus 4 Gene-Z (It's a Z68)
i7 2600k
Corsair memory: CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R
Corsair SSD Sata 3: CSSD-F60GB3-BK
WD Black 2TB: WD2002FAEX
DZ77GA-70K BIOS mouse issues
I have a Razer Imperator 2012 and getting this mouse to work with the BIOS seems to be downright impossible. If it wasn't for the classic mode I probably would have gone made by now. Anybody have any similar issues with mice on this board?

DZ77SL-50K How do you configure Secure Boot options?
Does anyone have any documentation on how to configure Secure Boot?
I'm looking for specific steps on how to get the UEFI interface to load keys. You can put a check box by Secure boot but not check any of the other options.
I once found the steps here in the forums but no longer can I find the posts.
I also found online a nice site that documented the Visual BIOS but it was older and did not cover Secure Boot.
Is there no documentation on the Intel site on how to correctly configure Secure boot?
I've found how to install Windows 8/8.1 but no real articles on the correct procedure to setup secure boot.
