Intel Desktop Board DZ77GA-70K & Windows 8 PRO 64bit problems...

Hi folks,

Yesterday i have built my new computer.

Specs are : intel dz77ga-70k, core i7 3770, 16gb ram, ssd corsair, ...

I have a problem with windows 8.

It already started when installing windows 8, the computer said : windows will restart in 10 seconds,

after this the computer hanged and did not reboot, i had to reboot myself.

After i had finish the installation i install the latest bios for the board, its number 60. ( it was 21 before )

With the new bios I still have problems with rebooting or shutting down windows 8.

Sometimes it hangs, sometimes not.

Can someone help me please...

Bios is set to default and the only thing i have changed is the xmp-1600 profile for my memory, that works !

UEFI boot is enabled and legacy boot is enabled too ( both were standard enabled )

And sorry for my bad english, i'm from belgium

I think this will be fixed in a new bios version soon, the compatibility with windows 8 isn't that great for the moment.

Intel DH61WW Issue (maybe 0099 bios)

hello everyone

I bought DH61WW used from my friend

Installed Intel G620 Processor

On turning PC on, I got no display but pc fans started, I pressed restart button and on boot it started giving display

I pressed F2 and went into bios

And bios were very different from my old DH61WW which I sold In october last year, this one has mouse support

(Will update bios version of my old mobo, I have contacted buyer, waiting for reply). and interesting thing bios show different motherboard at Top : DH61BE bios version 0099 25/5/2012

i went into system identification on main page of bios and it showed DH61ww

I turned off PC, turned on and no display, tried this several time to make sure its first boot no display issue

then I asked him, he tried installing latest bios on his Office DH61ww and got same issue, his pc showing DH61CR and no display on first boot,

I thought of installing latest bios, but on searching google I found many issues on 0099 bios, and dead mobo on flashing other bios

So should I update latest bios? will they work good or wait for fixed bios?

old board needs a graphics card

I'm new here and do not understand graphics boards but I have just installed an old board (D101GGS) so I may play some old games.  The board has graphics but some of the games need more and am not sure which would be compatible.  The manual says the board will accept a PCIE 16 card but does not indicate anything else.  Will the current boards work or must I find an older version?  If so, would someone please recommend something which will work, with specifics.  I don't understand the current DDR2 or DDR3 memory compatibility or if it is relevant.

Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

dz77ga-70k fails without legacy boot

Hello!

I have a strange issue on dz77ga-70k (bios 0063)

here is my specs:

windows 8 x64 as uefi boot

i7-3770k

crucial 2gb XMP-1600-8-8-8-24      *4

MSI geforce GTX670 o.c. (as default video)

The problem is in bios behavior: if I uncheck the "legacy boot" and remain UEFI boot and then save and reload, the system will reload 3 times and then it shows black screen and after that monitor is switching on and there is my windows 8 start screen.

On system prefs I can see that the intel hd graphics 4000 is enabled (but i've disabled it in visual bios)

Then i reload and can't get into bios (Because of black screen!!!)

If I use back to bios button or jumper the system will reload 3 times again, then in bios I can see that legacy boot is turned on, intel hd 4000 is turned on, and memory XMP disabled!!!

WTF?!

After a recent move, my computer refuses to boot up - DX58SO

After a recent apartment move, my computer refuses to boot up. I have DX58SO motherboard. When I try to power up my computer, I hear what I think are 4 beeps (not 3) - Tiiiiii Tiiii Tiiiiii Tiiii. It then shuts down.

I am guessing it can't be a Memory issue because that would reported via 3 beeps as per the Product Guide. There was no mention of 4 beeps in the product guide.

I would really appreciate any help in troubleshooting this.

Here's my complete computer configuration:

Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650-Watt TX Series 80 Plus Certified Power Supply compatible with Intel Core i7 and Core i5

Intel DX58SO Extreme Series X58 ATX Tri-Channel DDR3 16GB SLI or CrossFireX LGA1366 Overclocking Utility Desktop Board

2 of Kingston ValueRAM 4GB Kit (2x2GB Modules) 1066MHz DDR3 Desktop Memory (KVR1066D3K2/4GR)

LG Electronics 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Internal Drive GH24NS50 (Black)

Intel Core i7 Processor i7-930 2.80GHz 8 MB LGA1366 CPU, Retail BX80601930

Seagate Barracuda 7200 1 TB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 32MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Drive ST31000528AS-Bare Drive

EVGA nVidia GeForce GTS 250 1 GB DDR3 2DVI/HDTV PCI-Express Video Card 01G-P3-1158-TR

BIOS issues with DG45ID board?

$

Hello all,

I recently installed two 3TB Seagate Barracuda SATA drives to use as a data only raid 1 system.

I used Seagates disk wizard to set the drives as GPT and they show up under my computer as two single 2.7TB

drives each. They also show as two single 2.7 TB drives under the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software. Here is the issue:

When I reboot to set up the raid 1 and press ctl + i,  I will start to create a raid 1 but the storage only shows 746GB. If I create the raid, will it only allow storage up to 746GB or the full 2.7TB?

Do I need to update the BIOS for it to fully except the 2.7TB? Below is my set up, if you need more information let me know.

Thank you!

Mother board: Intel DG45ID

Bios version: IDG4510H.86A.0097.2009.0428.1627

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad, Q8200 @ 2.33GHz,

Intel 64 Achitecture. Intel G45/G43 Express.

                    Chip set. 4GB Ram

Windows: Vista Premium 64-bit SP2

DH55HC Network Adapter will not connect at 1Gbps

I have a DH55HC Desktop Board and I cannot get the 825578DC Gigabit Network Connection to connect to my LAN at anything higher than 100Mbps.  I have checked all the cables and ports on my switch and had another PC connect to the switch at 1Gbps.  I have the latest driver for the Ethernet Controller installed (11.16.87.0) and the latest version of Intel PROSet installed (18.0.1).

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do to resolve it?

DH77EB + HD 4000 and 23.976Hz

This question was asked before but was never answered.

According to reviews on Missing Remote and Anandtec back in April, the new IB processors support 23.976Hz with a 'new' BIOS and appropriate drivers.

I have a DH77EB, i3-3225

BIOS 089

Win7 Sp1 x64

Driver v 2761

latest MEI (I think 8.0 or 8.1)

I can see that screen resolution 1080p23  is offered, as well as 1080p24

However, both result in a 24.00xxHz refresh rate.

What needs to be done to get 23.97xxx (i know it won't be perfect, but at least somewhere near the ideal value).

Cheers,

DP35DP Mainboard: suddenly no video

I am suffering a similar issue to this one:

DP35DP no signal to monitor

I used this mainboard for several years with the same components for several years without problems. Suddenly one morning there was no vide output. The monitor just stayed black (in standby mode). All fans (CPU & power supply) were turning, etc. I did not here any "OK beep" when the mainboard enters the BIOS, but I think there wasn't any "OK beep" before neither.

Changing monitor, cables etc. did not show any effect. When I took out all RAM modules and started the computer without RAM (but with graphic card and CPU) there was a beep by the motherboard (which is a good sign). So I followed the hint in the linked thread, to reset the BIOS. I downloaded the latest *.bio file for this mainboard from the Intel webpage, copied it to a flashdrive, removed the jumper on the motherboard to set recovery mode and booted the computer with the flashdrive following this instructions: BIOS Recovery on Intel® Desktop Boards - YouTube

I have the impression that the BIOS recovery was successful, because afterwards the fan controll seemed to be reset to its default settings (really loud fans). But still no image on the screen. I did it a second time. Now the fans are silent again, still no screen and no idea why the fans changed again.

When I pull out the graphic card and boot the computer just with RAM and CPU, there is no error beep! Nevertheless I'd expect 2 error beeps, when the graphic card is missing: Desktop Boards — BIOS beep codes

Does that mean my graphic card is broken? Or the part of the mainboard responsible for the graphiccard? Unfortunately I do not have a second motherboard with PCIe nor do I have a second PCIe graphic card to test the parts.

Note that Wake on LAN is working, but the computer does not request a DHCP package.

I'd appriciate any help, thanks!

Intel DX79SR and HD7970 - PC won't startup

$

Hi there,

I have some trouble with a newly bought HIS Radeon HD 7970 X2 GHz Edition on an Intel DX79SR Board.

My specs:

Intel I7 3820 @ Default clock

Intel DX79SR Board

16 GB Samsung Green DDR3 (2x 8 GB Kit); Running at 1600 MHz (8-8-8-24)

Adaptec Raid Card 6405E with 2 Samsung HE103SJ 1 TB Drives (RAID 0)

ASUS Xonar D2 PCI Sound Card

Plextor M5 Pro SSD 128 GB

Windows 8 Pro x64

currently:

EVGA Geforce GTX 670 FTW Edition 2 GB

In this configuration the PC runs well, but with a small issue at the boot Screen ("Press F2" etc.) where it hangs up for a while (mainly 10-15 seconds) at code 5A (that occured first after updating the BIOS to vers. 553 from delivery state, which was 537 though) which seems to adhere with the RAID Card because an uninstallation of the Card gets me a fast boot :-).

Passing that point there are no further Problems.

Now starts the fun with the HD 7970...

GTX 670 drivers and card uninstalled, HD 7970 installed... PC started... BIOS screen appeared "Press F2" ect., Screen goes black (and i can't even see RAID BIOS beyond this point) and last post code at the bottom of the right side shows "0_" ... Dunno the meaning of that because the BIOS post on the board itself shows "00" which means everythings ok, I suppose...

Interestingly I can enter the BIOS of the Mainboard where I've seen that the HD7970 starts at 8 GT/s (GTX670 at 2,5 GT/s, powers up in Windows)... Don't know if this relevant...

Funny thing is, I can hear the Windows 8 startup ect. in the background, but the black screen won't refresh and stays at 0_ ...

The problem seems similar to this one http://communities.intel.com/thread/33972 ... but since there comes no further answers I'll start here this new thread... Hope you can forgive me that...

Maybe someone has a clue which is causing this issue...

Many thanks for your support in advance...

Greetings

Edit 04/03/2013:

Did some more testing with an old X38 platform...

My 750 Watt PSU seems to be ok as the HD7970 works as it should... means:

Shows me bios, shows me windows...

Why not on X79??? xD Quite annoying...

But I've found out some more about the DX79SR too...

I have tested the raid card in every else of the x16 Slots above the x1 Slot (which should be running over the CPU and not over the chipset as the x1 slot...) but the PC won't boot up... stucks at POST 26 o. e. and no pictures shows up... not even the BIOS enter screen...

It's curious...

Any explanation?

Or is it just incompatibility?

DX79SI - USB3 - spread spectrum clocking

$

Hi there,

I have trouble with the DX79SI Mainboard and some external USB3 devices. For some USB3.0 devices, such as Cypress FX3,  it is mandatory to disable the Spread spectrum clocking on host side, in order to work correctly. How can I disable the Spread spectrum Clocking in the latest BIOS version 0553(2012/10/27)? In case it is not possible, is this function available in an old bios version or with another tool?

Best regards,

Sebastian

DH77EB - front usb 3.0

Hi,

I recently bought a Lexar 32GB JumpDrive S73 USB 3.0 flash drive, and it does not work correctly when plugged to the front usb connector of my computer case, a Silverstone PS07. This case has native usb 3.0 front connectors, so they're directly plugged to the motherboard usb 3.0 header, an Intel DH77EB. I inspected the cable and it looks fine. Besides this, I also checked the motherboard usb 3.0 header, and there are no bent pins.

I cannot for example, format the flash drive. On Windows, I get this error:

http://i.imgur.com/WnvlsKY.png

I also can see Windows has trouble recognizing the device:

http://i.imgur.com/ZBY6z4D.png

However, the flash drive works perfectly when plugged to the back usb 3.0 connectors. I also have no problems with usb 2.0 flash drives when plugged on the front connectors.

Can anyone help me? Thank you.

There is some other changes that i noticed:

There is a "Secure Boot" tab in BIOS, where you can turn on and edit "Secure Boot" for Windows 8 and other OS's.

There is now a "Legacy Boot" option below "UEFI Boot" that you can use to turn on/off traditional BIOS emulation. But.....

WARNING: DO NOT TURN OFF / UNTICK THE LEGACY BOOT OPTION.

I unticked "Legacy Boot" and ticked only "UEFI Boot" but my PC did not want to boot.

There was no video on screen and i heard 2 beeps followed by a pause and then another 2 beeps, which means video card error.

I had to hold down power button for 3 seconds and release it, so i could get back into BIOS settings.

When i turned on "Legacy Boot" again, it worked fine.

Reset BIOS to defaults before upgrading.

PCIe x4 card not working in x4 slot on DH77KC, x1 cards do work

Hi Friends,

I just bought a DH77KC with Ivy 3770, and I run into trouble installing a x4 LAN card (thats a DUAL LAN card from Supermicro, AOC-SG-I2) into x4 slot (that is the lowest slot, it's open-ended). The card doesn't appear in either BIOS or the OS.

An Intel x1 Gigabit LAN card however works in this slot.

Please advise on possible solution. The BIOS is from 24/2/2012.

I have been running the following system for about three months now.  Over that time I have had a fairly consistent problem were after exiting out of Windows 8 and all way down to where the lights on the Monitors are flashing the system keeps running and does not fully shut down until I force it by holding in the power button for about 10 seconds. After then I turned back on the system and go back into Windows I do not get any error messages.  I'm hoping that somebody can give me some insight into what might be the source of this anomaly and possibly how to troubleshoot and correct it? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Problem updating bios DZ77BH-55K

$

I have a DZ77BH-55K with core i5 3570K. I have Windows 8 pro and tried to update the bios using the Express BIOS Update. Everything seemed to be OK and it asked me to restart the computer (I was inside windows). After that, the POST Code LED got stuck on 55 for about 20 or 30 mins. Then it restarted again and now it keeps rebooting itself (it shutdowns itself after reaching POST code 14 and turn on again repeating the process all over again).  The computer can't be on for more than 1 or 2 seconds.

Now, I've also tried using Recovery BIOS using a USB (bootable and non-bootable) without success. The only difference was that sometimes it keeped rebooting while others it looked like it was working (it didn't reboot and the HDD started working) but the POST Code got stuck on 20

and the 6th green LED didn't stop blinking. I waited for about 20 mins just in case (because the monitor was black) without success.

I couldn't find anithing about the 55 code, but according to the manual code 20 means "Resuming from S2 state"

One last thing: If someone is using the computer, the POST Code isn't supposed to be 00? Because sometimes I got code 40, even while playing games such Starcraft II and Half Life 2.

I think I made a mistake by upgrading my BIOS from 0027?  I upgraded to 0039 and got no post, or wouldn't go past code 45.  Somehow I managed to get to 0035 and now I am having BSOD's.  Can someone help me figure this out?

DP67BG - No LAN Drivers for Server 2008 R2?

$

Hi,

I have created a new multi-boot Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008 R2 system on a new DP67BG main board. The Win 7 OS for general home use and the Sever 2008 R2 for my MCITP studies.

I am unable to locate a compatible Server 2008 R2 LAN driver for the DP67BG main board.

Does anyone know of a compatible driver, or am I looking at a PCI NIC for my Sever 2008 R2 support?

Thanks,

Mark
