DZ87KLT-75k - USB3 front panel issue

$

I am running Windows 7 64bit on a DZ87KLT-75k / 4770 system.

When plugging an USB device (external hard drive, USB stick, etc...) to either one of the front panel USB 3 ports, the devices are not recognized correctly in Windows. The devices appear in explorer, are read and write accessible, however, the "Safely remove hardware" notification doesn't show, there is no "right click -> eject" option in explorer, and the Hardware "Policies" tab (to optimize for either quick removal or performance) is missing.

This is not the case when plugging to the front panel USB 2 ports, or the back panel USB 3 ports. I have tried with both USB 2 and 3 capable devices and cables.

I am using the 2.5.1.28 USB 3 driver, the problem was also occurring with the previous driver version. Forcing the list of plugged devices to show up using "rundll32 shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" also doesn't work. Well it works, but the drives are not listed if plugged in the front panel USB 3 ports.

Could this be due to a driver or hardware problem?

DG45FC Memory Limit

When I built my DG45FC m/b desktop at an Intel Channel Conference in Garden City, Long Island, New York

It came with a single 2 Gbyte Kinston Ram in one of two available slots. This was great for immediate upgrade to 4 Gbytes Ram.

I like the incredible general utility of this m/b, however I should like to give it some extra Ram headroom by installing two

Kingston KVR800D2N6K2/8G4 GB8006-6-6Non-ECCx8Elpida E2108ABSE-8G-E

as listed in the following Intel support document:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dg45fc/sb/CS-029148.htm?wapkw=dg45fc

This appears

to allow 8 Gbytes of total DDR2 ram to be utilized on this m/b.

Kingston (who has since discontinued that product SKU# ) says their old records indicate

only 4 Gbytes total ram is supported on this m/b.....BUT their support tech indicates the possibility

that Intel bios updates may have increased that to 8 Gbytes limit.....?????

I have the latest bios installed [ IDG4510H.86A.0135.EB.EXE ] however, I find no reference to Ram updates.

The question is: Is this m/b capable of handling 8 Gbytes of Ram?

Thanks for your help.

D2500CC, how do I set mac address in DOS or BIOS???

How can I change, or rather set, the mac address of my brand new D2500CC? LAN port 1 has no mac address in BIOS and pfSense installation says "Invalid mac address" for em1 during boot ..

Was amazed that a board like this didn't have a better BIOS, as a sidenote ... feels like it's 15 years old from the options it gives.

Can not find any information about this anywhere, nor any contact form or mail address to get in direct touch with support here .. so hoping someone here can help me.

[edit]... can't seem to edit replies .. so edit here. Got the flash tool to work, but no function to change the address nor fix anything. All I could do was to disable WOL on the 2nd port (cause I don't need that) and I tried to flash PXE onto the first controller, just to try something .. but no go either.
No MAC address shown in BIOS for NIC

No digital audio with Intel® Desktop Board DH87RL

I recently built a new system with the DH87RL and an i7-4770K. Everything works just fine except I am not getting any audio from optical or HDMI. If I make them the default device in the Sound control panel, I can see the volume meter go up and down but no actual sound comes out of my speakers. Video through HDMI works fineI checked the receiver audio input settings to make sure they were set properly, but still no sound. I installed the drivers from the disk provided. Defective board? Other issue?

Intel DP55WB and Gigabyte r9 280x: Not booting. Compatibilty issue?

Hi all. Just got myself a brand new Gigabyte r9 280x Windforce yesterday. I've been trying and trying hard to get it to work on this board but my system never goes beyond the start up logo. It stays stuck at 5A forever. My previous GPU was a Gigabyte 6950 and it worked perfectly. I don't understand why, for the life of me, this GPU refuses to boot. I've tried the following:

- Removing other PCI Devices

- Removing Old GPU Drivers

- Switching Power Connectors

- Reseating the card several times

- Updating Bios to Ver. 336 (Latest)

I do get a display with the GPU, the startup Intel logo that is. But it just locks up after that. Pushing the BIOS key does nothing but produce beeps. Switching back to the old GPU makes it boot up again without skipping a beat so the current GPU is definitely the culprit. Things I still haven't tried:

-Flashing GPU with New Firmware

-Clearing CMOS

-Trying the GPU on a friend's PC

I'm gonna try doing these things later. Is there anything else you guys think it could be? Thanks in advance.

DH87RL: MSI R9 270X not recognized/working

Hello Support Community!

I build a PC, based on the "11 Watt-PC" Articles in the german c't-Magazine.

To have more Graphicpower than the buildin Intel 4600HD Gerphics, I added an MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming G2 Graphiccard.

After the Assambly of the whole system I run into the following problem:

The used DH87RL Mainboard: DH87RL AAG74240-403

The BIOS Version in the beginning (01. Dec 13) was the 0320.

At first I build the PC without the extra Graphics - everything worked fine (Win7prof 64-bit newest Drivers).

I inserted and connected the MSI Radeon: no change - internal graphics still active (in BIOS graphic in auto mode) - the BIOS said for the PCIe x16 "slot not populated".

Updating to Bios Version 0322 did change anything.

Through advices at the german heise-forum I tried different ways to get the graphic activated: disabling all onboard stuff (lan, audio, tpm, etc.), disabling powersafe mechanism of PCIe (ASPM) which helped other users at this point.

Even removing the battery didn't help - still "slot not populated".

Then the newest bios 0323 arrived - my hope raised again.

I removed the working GeForce GTS450 - made the update with the internal graphic. I disabled again all the above mentioned things and rebooted. Then I installed the MSI Radeon. This time i got 2 beeps - short pause - again 2 beeps. Thats it. No signal on the Radeon nor on the integrated graphic.

This means, with the newest BIOS 0323, the Board recognises "something". But i got still no signal on monitor, no boot.

I hope some of you can help me at this point, or have some new ideas?

Thanks for your help!

DH87MC i4770K HAXM

we bought a new Computer with a DH87MC-Motherboard and a i4770K Processor. As we tried to install HAXM (using Windows 7 Ultimate) a dialog popped up, that vt-x has to be enabled to use haxm. We did activate "Intel Virtualization Technology" in BIOS (0153) and did a cold start.

After the cold start HAXM still stopped installing with the Message that vt-x has to be enabled. Also other Tools (like Speccy or the Microsoft-Virtualization-Detection) showd, that vt-x is possible but not enabled. How can we enable vt-x? We really need HAXM (a intel software) to develop android applications, without HAXM it is far to slow.

System is in manufacturing mode

Dear All:

The BIOS screen on a DG41TY board is showing the following message: System is in manufacturing mode. The BIOS is current, but I reloaded the BIOS just in case it was corrupted.

The message is still there, but it does not seem to be harming the system.

What is the meaning of that message and how do I get rid of it?

Thank you,

Hi guys,

I've never really used the Grey Marvell SATA ports, but now I wanted to add another HDD and decided to and cannot for the life of me get them to work. Is there anything I need to do?

I have secondary SATA enabled in BIOS. And when I go to BIOS to see my sata ports, it only shows my Intel SSD connected to SATA 0 and doesn't show any of my connected drives.  It also does not show my grey SATA ports in BIOS?  Only shows SATA 0-5

Blue SATA 0: Intel 520 240gb SSD

Blue SATA 1: Seagate 1.5tb Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 2: 500gb Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 3: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 4: DVD Burner

Black SATA 5: Bluray Drive

Grey SATA 6: 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Grey SATA 7: Empty

I'm using:

OS: Windows 8.1  Pro 64bit

Motherboard: Intel DZ77GA-70K

BIOS Version: 0066

BIOS Mode: UEFI

Any help would be much appreciated as I want to get my new 3TB HDD working. Thanks

Desktop Utilities error 1401

Using Windows 8.1 64-bit OS. My motherboard is DX79SR. When installing Intel Desktop Utilities I get this error: "Error 1401 Could not create key \SOFTWARE\Intel\Desktop Board\QST Control. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel."

The program worked well until I updated the BIOS today, so I tried updating the program as well and it won't work anymore. When I do "ignore" the error and continue installing, I just get the loading screen when I open Desktop Utilities.

Any help provided will be greatly appreciated.

Thin-ITX, LVDS and GPU Passthrough

$

Hello folks,

I've been looking into building my own 'custom' All-In-One system using an Intel thin-ITX board. I have a question though:

Do any of the Intel boards support GPU pass-through to the LVDS port? i.e. Using a discrete GPU card in the PCI Express expansion slot (with suitable riser modifications for power supply and such), but having the display data fed through to the LVDS header - or am I limited to only the CPU's HD graphics on this port?

I note the Gigabyte AIO products have a GPU upgrade feature, but I'm not sure if this is a custom feature for them, or a standard feature of the thin-itx standard.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,

John

DZ77-GAL70K Channel A Memory Slots Not Working

$

I have recently completed a new computer build this week with a DZ77-GAL70K board with an I5-3570K CPU and so far have been completely unsuccessful getting the Channel A memory slots (DIMM 1 and 3) to work. I have tried 2 different kinds of memory so far, RAMAXEL 8GB (2x4) PC3L-12800 and G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) - PC3 19200 and I get 3 beeps every time and a reboot.

In channel B, both types of memory have worked perfectly without issue, other than being unsuccessful at overclocking the GSKILL 2400 memory to 2400 MHz, can only get them to run at 1600 MHz, any settings higher the system gets stuck in a reboot cycle. I know neither type of memory is listed under the compatibility chart for the board but that does not make any sense why they would work perfectly in Channel B (both brands) and not work at all in Channel A. Both memory are also brand new.

Is this going to be fixed in any upcoming BIOS versions as I have seen many other people have posted the same issue in the support community

DZ87KLT-75K No BIOS after upgrade / trapped with dysfunctional KL0446

Greetings to all, I bought a DZ87klt-75K board roughly half a year ago. Recently I was thinking of upgrading to W8 and found that the bios (quote: BIOS version 0446 adds support for Microsoft* Windows* 8.1.)  So naturally I reckoned that earlier versions do not support or have issues with w8.1. I flashed the Bios – all went well, but after the restart I found that F2 no longer brings up the visual bios and B2B doesn’t help. I assume it is not “only” a display problem because the whole PC hangs.  I tried switching monitors – VGA, DVI and HDMI –nothing helped. I even unplugged my GTX650 and used the integrated video HDMI – nothing changed. F7 works (sort of, because as you will see later on it is useless, at least until a new update comes along) F10 lets me choose boot disk and the PC boots fine, but F2 hangs the PC. Unfortunately as stated in Intel DL you cannot revert / downgrade from KL0446 to earlier versions so it’s a “catch 22”. IS THERE REALY NO WAY TO REVERT TO THE ORIGINAL KL0336???  446 just doesn’t work. Re flashing makes no difference, taking the battery out (for 3h) only made the bios think it is 1.1.2012 which of course cannot be changed if I don’t have bios access. To top it off Bios recovery (the jumper method) also hangs the PC. This is a GREAT disappointment for me, because I use my PC mostly for work and that is partly the reason why I decided to buy a reliable “brand” “Intel” board. Now I am wasting hours and hours and maybe facing the prospect to apply for a warranty replacement which takes 30 days. As I have read in discussions I am not the first and only one o lose F2 after upgrade. Is there really no solution to this???

Allan

PS: I did not change Legacy boot priority,

DQ87PG and TXT issues

$

I have sort-of "bricked" two DQ87PG boards in 1 day trying to get Intel TXT to work.

Both of these boards have been updated to the 20130606 BIOS.

There are just a lot of weird things with this board and TXT.  Here are some issues I have encountered.

1. On board#1, I triggered the chassis intrusion detector on purpose.  After this was triggered, it was impossible to boot the system with TXT enabled.

I tried: a) Turning off chassis intrusion detection b) clearing CMOS c) Reinstalling the 0606 BIOS d) Resetting the BIOS.

The system boots fine without TXT.

So I went out and bought *another* DQ87PG today.  That board was "bricked" differently.

2. Weird thing.  When I enabled TXT, the TPM was *already* owned.  That is rather unusual and there is no option in the BIOS to clear the TPM.  However, there is the option of removing a jumper to clear the TPM (BIOS "Configuration" mode).  I did that, but as soon as I removed that jumper (without clearing the TPM), the system would not boot with TXT.

3. After clearing the TPM using the BIOS Configuration mode, the system still does not boot in TXT mode.

With all these various failure modes, I wonder what is required to get the DQ87PG board properly *configured* to use TXT without bricking it?

Has anyone else had success with this board and a real TXT setup with a working LCP?ot

LPT1 Address in D2500HN

Hi all,

I plan to use the Intel D2500HN motherboard in order to run some old control software that uses the parallel port interface, under winXP. The problem is that the software only works when the LPT1 address is mapped in the typical LPT1 address: 0x378. Could you please confirm me whether this motherboard will fit my needs?

Desktop board DZ77GA-70K - BIOS ???

$

I bought in October 2012th Intel Desktop Board DZ77GA - 70K , Intel i5 - 3570K and the Intel SSD 520 180GB .

On the PC, the system is Windows7 - 64bit .

Intel Desktop Bord DZ77GA - 70K was purchased with BIOS ver .0021 and now I'm working with the same version of the 0021.

I checked all the BIOS updates that you have and build on what and what is the fix, so I figured why I have some problems with my motherboard DZ77GA - 70K . ( when you turn on the PC , the fans spin at maximum speed , why do my schedule to boot the system I used to be a mess , some settings do not work well , and my PC in Win7 sometimes known by itself reset , I tried it with a Corsair Force3 SSD 120GB and Western Digital Blue 1TB HDD , and the same is happening ) .

So I want to upgrade the BIOS .
I wonder if I can upgrade my version of 0021 at the latest BIOS ver 0066 ?
Do you have to go row 0021-0066 ( 0027 , 0035 ... 0064 , 0066 - there are 14 versions ) ?
Does this ver . 0066 has all the upgrades and fixes version 0027-0064 ?
Which method updates the BIOS do you recommend ?
Thank you in advance for your answers , you will help me a lot !!!

Still no fixed BIOS for DZ68BC

Alright,

It has been a while since Intel released the infamous 0035 BIOS for DZ68BC board.

I have not been able to use my desktop at all. Is it really taking so long? There is plenty of affected customers waiting for a solution.

Obviously Ivy Bridge CPUs are working fine with this BIOS since I have not heard any complaints. BUT all Sandy Bridge users are getting more or less BSODs. Many of the cases even with default BIOS settings and Turbo Boost disabled, like myself.

I am not going to RMA my board because I hate to rip off all the components and cables that I assembled so beautifully (Yeah, it is a custom PC that took almost 3 months to build and sleeve the cables etc)

If nothing happens in next two months, I have to violate my rig and replace the board with Asrock (considered before as junk brand... I guess its high end nowadays)

DH87RL and 3 Displays

I can't get a DH87RL board running Windows 8.1 to do extended desktop across 3 attached displays.  Extended desktop works for any 2 of the 3 displays but not all 3 concurrently.  An error message "The display settings could not be saved.  Please try a different combination of display settings".  I've tried several recent releases of Intel HD Graphics drivers for Win8.1 with the same results.  BIOS is the latest 0323.

Displays 1 & 2 are HP 2311f monitors (1920x1080) and display 3 is an HP w1907 (1440x900).  The second 2311f monitor is driven through a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter cable that works great.  The w1907 monitor is connected to DVI.  Does anyone know whether DH87RL can fundamentally drive 3 displays concurrently, or perhaps this is a bug?

Cannot install High Definition Driver on DH87RL Win 7/64

I just built a new PC.  DH87RL 4GB of RAM, Intel 240GB SSD Windows 7 64 bit OS.  Installed all of the latest drivers from Intel's site.  Everythign installed except for the Realtek driver.  I have tried it many times including before and after windows updates, in safe mode but everytime I get the same error message: "Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure!! [Error Code: 0x000000FF]".  Device Manager is not highlighting any devices without drivers but there is no sound.  The speaker in the tray shows a red X and has the error message that no audo output device is installed.  I have a set of known good speakers attached with a known good cable.  The device is not set up correctly.  Any ideas?
