D2500CC: LAN bricked

$

Hi,

I have a new replacement of a defective D2500CC motherboard. It was explained in this thread:  D2500cc : strange tic-tac sound in off

This new motherboard was working right 2 days, and then suddenly the first LAN was not recognized. Now inside the BIOS there is not Lan1 mac address in the section "System Information".  Just there is the MAC address of the Lan2

In Linux, I have this error:

e1000e .... : The NVM Checksum Is Not Valid

e1000e: .... failed with error -5

in the Lan1 connector of motherboard there is one green light active, so I believe still is alive.

And also I can see the device in the SO:

# lspci -vvvv | grep Ethernet

01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection

02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection

I'm reading many informations about the problems with 82574L, in example:

e1000e interface hang on 82754L

Unbricking an Intel Pro/1000 (e1000) network interface

although I'm not an expert at all. If I understand well, maybe the EEPROM was deleted or damaged.  That's right?

- Is there some way to restore my LAN device?

- Is there some easy guide to flash a new LAN firmware from an USB boot to solve this issue with Linux?

Please, give me some support to know the right way to solve this. Or to know the right firmware to download and the procedure to fix this error.

I'm reading tons of informations around this issue, and I don't know exactly the right thing to do.

thanks

DQ87PG Bios Support broken?

I have a new DQ87PG-Mainboard and tried to make it fit for Windows 8.1. On the Intel-Support-Site I found 6 Bios - Version 30, 35, 36, 121, 139 and 141.

My mainboard came with v. 30. I installed Win 8 and upgraded dirct to Win 8.1 - the PC worked well. Then I found Bios 139 with 8.1 support. I tried to flash Version 139 with all three methods - without succes, each with the same "FWUpdateFullBuffer" - error message. So I started to flash each version step by step. My results:

V 35 flash without error

V 36 flash without error

V 121 error - Bios file is not for DQ87PG, but for DB85FL Board

V 139 error FwUpdateFullBuffer

V 141 error FwUpdateFullBuffer

I'ts not my first experience with flashing mainboard, but I never hat such a number of problems.

The V 121 is more the a month on the support site, I found in an other discussion here a hint about this, but nothing happens.

I'm sure to maked a mistake by flashing the board! My system is plain vanilla:

DQ87PG Mainboard

I5-4670 Cpu

2*8 GB Kingston Memory

1 Samsung 849 EVO SSD-Drive

1 Plextor DVD-Drive

and it is quite good, stable an powerful.

Intel DP55WB and Gigabyte r9 280x: Not booting. Compatibilty issue?

Hi all. Just got myself a brand new Gigabyte r9 280x Windforce yesterday. I've been trying and trying hard to get it to work on this board but my system never goes beyond the start up logo. It stays stuck at 5A forever. My previous GPU was a Gigabyte 6950 and it worked perfectly. I don't understand why, for the life of me, this GPU refuses to boot. I've tried the following:

- Removing other PCI Devices

- Removing Old GPU Drivers

- Switching Power Connectors

- Reseating the card several times

- Updating Bios to Ver. 336 (Latest)

I do get a display with the GPU, the startup Intel logo that is. But it just locks up after that. Pushing the BIOS key does nothing but produce beeps. Switching back to the old GPU makes it boot up again without skipping a beat so the current GPU is definitely the culprit. Things I still haven't tried:

-Flashing GPU with New Firmware

-Clearing CMOS

-Trying the GPU on a friend's PC

I'm gonna try doing these things later. Is there anything else you guys think it could be? Thanks in advance.

cant access BIOS (DB85FL)

I recently bought a new desktop ( i5-4670 + Intel DB85FL ). The assembler installed an pirated win 7 and demonstrated that all systems are working properly. I bought a win 8.1 pro from Microsoft and made a fresh install.

Everything was nice and pretty except 4 "secure boot not configured" watermark on the desktop. So I went into the UEFI bios and checked the secure boot option (there were 2 other related options [cant recall what they were] which I didn't check).

That did not remove the "secure boot not configured" watermark but now instead of press F2 F10 etc screen I get a beep error which according to my motherboard manual is no video detected error. then it goes into windows which is working properly.

if i go to

PC settings > update & recovery > recovery > adv startup> troubleshoot> adv opt>uefi firmware

after the beeps the computer becomes un-responsive

restarting doesn't help it still becomes un-responsive after the beeps

after a being powered of for a long time (< 15-30 minutes) it boots into windows after the beeps.

i tried updating the bios from windows ; didn't work went unresponsive after restart

so i update the bios by removing the security jumper ; it was successful.

now i no longer get the beep errors and go directly to windows.

but i cant go into bios and PC settings >...>uefi firmware option

makes the computer becomes un-responsive like before.

the man who assemble the pc has no clue how to help

what am I to do now ?

Is the DX79SR LGA 2011 socket compatible with the i7-4960x? PLEASE HELP

I'm building my 1st pc and I'm so excited!  I just recently bought the i7-4960x LGA 2011 chipset thinking it would be compatible with my motherboard DX79SR because it stated on the link Intel® Desktop Board DX79SR

At product launch, this Intel® Desktop Board DX79SR supports:

Because of that, I assume it is compatible to any chipset that is LGA 2011.  But then I found this website, http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-034539.htm

in which I was heartbroken.  Is this processor compatible or not?  Even the the representative from TigerDirect found that two different Intel links are contraindicating with one another and unable to tell me for sure because his experience was that all LGA sockets are compatible with all LGA chipsets.  I hate to attempt to try it because I don't want to run the chance of ruining my motherboard.  I'm so saddened but would be grateful someone can tell me for sure especially someone from Intel.  I spent over a grand for this latest chipset but I'm going to cry if this isn't compatible.  Why Intel?  I have always been behind your products.

Sincerely,

Sue Ann

Still no fixed BIOS for DZ68BC

Alright,

It has been a while since Intel released the infamous 0035 BIOS for DZ68BC board.

I have not been able to use my desktop at all. Is it really taking so long? There is plenty of affected customers waiting for a solution.

Obviously Ivy Bridge CPUs are working fine with this BIOS since I have not heard any complaints. BUT all Sandy Bridge users are getting more or less BSODs. Many of the cases even with default BIOS settings and Turbo Boost disabled, like myself.

I am not going to RMA my board because I hate to rip off all the components and cables that I assembled so beautifully (Yeah, it is a custom PC that took almost 3 months to build and sleeve the cables etc)

If nothing happens in next two months, I have to violate my rig and replace the board with Asrock (considered before as junk brand... I guess its high end nowadays)

DZ68BC Core-i 2nd Gen to 3rd Gen Upgrade

I have an opportunity to upgrade my system from an i5-2500K to an i7-3770. I read as much about this as I could find and went through a somewhat troubling BIOS upgrade from version 27 to version 39.

I tried installing the i7-3770 and it did not go well. The board did not boot though I got some beeps and the fan started and stopped several times. (This behavior was very similar to what happened when I loaded BIOS 35, after which the power supply failed.) I reinstalled the i5-2500K and the system is back to normal operation.

Before I go any further I would like to confirm what else I should be doing to prepare this board for a 3rd generation CPU. I noticed today that there is a BIOS 42 available - this was not showing up a week ago. Should I install this? Also, I don't think I understand the Management Engine requirements. The Intel-provided schematic for preparing the board mentions the ME upgrade to level 8, but does not specifically state anything about doing this or enabling ME8. It only states that you have to have a BIOS which supports it, which I do. Are there other changes that I should be making to the management engine?

Hi guys,

I've never really used the Grey Marvell SATA ports, but now I wanted to add another HDD and decided to and cannot for the life of me get them to work. Is there anything I need to do?

I have secondary SATA enabled in BIOS. And when I go to BIOS to see my sata ports, it only shows my Intel SSD connected to SATA 0 and doesn't show any of my connected drives.  It also does not show my grey SATA ports in BIOS?  Only shows SATA 0-5

Blue SATA 0: Intel 520 240gb SSD

Blue SATA 1: Seagate 1.5tb Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 2: 500gb Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 3: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 4: DVD Burner

Black SATA 5: Bluray Drive

Grey SATA 6: 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Grey SATA 7: Empty

I'm using:

OS: Windows 8.1  Pro 64bit

Motherboard: Intel DZ77GA-70K

BIOS Version: 0066

BIOS Mode: UEFI

Any help would be much appreciated as I want to get my new 3TB HDD working. Thanks

DZ87KLT-75k - USB3 front panel issue

$

I am running Windows 7 64bit on a DZ87KLT-75k / 4770 system.

When plugging an USB device (external hard drive, USB stick, etc...) to either one of the front panel USB 3 ports, the devices are not recognized correctly in Windows. The devices appear in explorer, are read and write accessible, however, the "Safely remove hardware" notification doesn't show, there is no "right click -> eject" option in explorer, and the Hardware "Policies" tab (to optimize for either quick removal or performance) is missing.

This is not the case when plugging to the front panel USB 2 ports, or the back panel USB 3 ports. I have tried with both USB 2 and 3 capable devices and cables.

I am using the 2.5.1.28 USB 3 driver, the problem was also occurring with the previous driver version. Forcing the list of plugged devices to show up using "rundll32 shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" also doesn't work. Well it works, but the drives are not listed if plugged in the front panel USB 3 ports.

Could this be due to a driver or hardware problem?

D2500CC, how do I set mac address in DOS or BIOS???

$

How can I change, or rather set, the mac address of my brand new D2500CC? LAN port 1 has no mac address in BIOS and pfSense installation says "Invalid mac address" for em1 during boot ..

Was amazed that a board like this didn't have a better BIOS, as a sidenote ... feels like it's 15 years old from the options it gives.

Can not find any information about this anywhere, nor any contact form or mail address to get in direct touch with support here .. so hoping someone here can help me.

[edit]... can't seem to edit replies .. so edit here. Got the flash tool to work, but no function to change the address nor fix anything. All I could do was to disable WOL on the 2nd port (cause I don't need that) and I tried to flash PXE onto the first controller, just to try something .. but no go either.
No MAC address shown in BIOS for NIC

DH87RL - Problem installing printer (Canon iP4950)

$

Hello,

I'm facing big problems when trying to install my printer Canon iP4950 on my new machine,

although printer and driver seem to be Windows 7 (64bit) compatible!

(This printer was working without any problem on my old machine with Windows XP !)

Facts:

- DH87RL

- BIOS and all drivers updated to newest version

- using Windows 7 Professional, 64bit, SP1 + all updates and patches so far

- newest Canon printer driver 64bit, v2.56 (for Win7 and Win8/8.1)

When I install the Canon drivers, I can see two devices to be installed:

1.) USB printing support

2.) iP4950 printer

After the installation the printer is recognized and works like expected!

BUT.... when I turn off the computer and restart again, there will be installed an "unknown device" (USB) instead of "USB printing support".

So "USB printing support" is no longer active and therfore my printer won't work any more!

I can reinstall the printer by first manually deinstall the printer driver and also "unknown device" and "USB printing support" in device manager.

But this will last only until I restart again... !

I tried with different USB panels (2.0 and 3.0) and with different cables also.

Can anyone give me some hints or tips to solve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Problem with HDMI audio using intel hd 4600 graphics

Hello,

I've got a huge problem regarding my hdmi audio in my intel dq87pg board. The setup is the following:

HTPC  -> Displayport to HDMI Adapter -> Onkyo AV Receiver -> TV

OS is Windows 8.1, Graphic drivers etc. are the latest.

if the TV and the AV Receiver is on when I start the HTPC, everything works fine. But if it is switched off while booting, the computer does not find any hdmi audio device when the receiver is turned on later. The same happens when av receiver is on during boot and the sound works and I restart the AV reveiver or replug the cable in between.

I've tried nearly everything, different drivers, reinstall windows etc, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a solution?

Many regards

Florian

I recently built a new system with the DH87RL and an i7-4770K. Everything works just fine except I am not getting any audio from optical or HDMI. If I make them the default device in the Sound control panel, I can see the volume meter go up and down but no actual sound comes out of my speakers. Video through HDMI works fineI checked the receiver audio input settings to make sure they were set properly, but still no sound. I installed the drivers from the disk provided. Defective board? Other issue?

BIOS upgrade problem on DZ77GA-70K desktop board

I tried to upgrade my BIOS (0021) to actual version (0066). I was successfully download the express BIOS update tool, I started on Windows 7. After the reboot the computer switched on for about 10 sec after switch off and switched on for 10 sec ... About 5 min I switched off the computer. I wait a 2-3 min after switch back. In this step does not effect for a 10 mins. After this step I tried the BIOS recovery procedure (download the GA0066.BIO file, write to an empty CD, put to the CDROM, switch off the computer, unplug from line, remove the BIOS recovery jumper, plug to the line, switch on... I see the power led flashing and CD is work (LED on CD flashing), after a few mins the power LED still continous light and CD is stoped, and computer is restarted and the monitor I see the "intel icon" on the left upper corner, after my monitor go black. I wait a few mins, and switch off (unplug from line etc.) my computer plug the jumper to "normal" position and switch on. The monitor is black, and board beep 3 times (beep-silence-beep-silence-beep long silence and beep-silence-beep-silence-beep long silence ...). When I switch on the computer a very short time I see "14" after continous "15" code on the 7 segment display on board.

What Can I do in this situation for working computer?

DZ87KLT-75K Power Issues

Just put together a new system, when I go to turn it on, it powers on (all fans turn on, including CPU) for less than a second and immediately turns off.  NO codes (00, 00) but the Diagnostic LED does show a CPU HOT red led.  I have checked the CPU and re-applied thermal grease, but this had no effect, I seriously doubt the CPU overheating is the real issue as it is never on for more than 1 second.

I have checked all power connections, and removed all non-essential peripherals.

Here is a video:

Any ideas?

I use an ATEN CubiQ CM0264 KVM Monitor Switch. Mouse and keyboard is switched and passed thru an USB connector of the KVM. When the USB connector is connected to the DH87RL boot hangs. I have to disconnect the USB port pass the boot scan and boot starts. After that I can reconnect the USB to gain access with mouse and keyboard. Problem occurs with old and the newest BIOS (323). Other systems connected to the KVM do not show this problem. With direct connection of mouse and keyboard the system boots without a problems. Any suggestion?

Poor RMA service

I sent my Intel DH67BL motherboard for RMA approx a month back. I got a replacement unit a week later. It worked fine for a week and it stopped working on 25th Dec 2013. I again RMAd it on 26th and got back a replacement unit on 3rd January 2014.

Today, I was assembling the new unit and it did not beep/POST. No Display.

Processor and RAM are in excellent conditions.

Does Intel send bad replacement units ? This is the second time. Are you giving us refurbished ones ?

I'm gonna RMA again. Send me a working one this time. CHECK BEFORE YOU SEND US ONE.

Hi

Today I started up my X79SI and it couldn't start from my SSD, and I've been unsuccessful to get it to boot from DVD or USB drive either.

All of the drives can be seen in BIOS, it just doesn't seem to now how to start loading Windows.

Apart from booting off the different media types, I've already upgraded to the latest BIOS (594) via F7, and done a BIOS settings reset via F9 as well.

The exact error message I get is

A bootable device has not been detected.

Please refer to the Product Guide at http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop

Any other suggestions?
