Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card for a machine with a D975XBX desktop board, currently the Graphics are through Radeon X1650. I can't seem to find out if this board supports PCI E 2.0 graphics cards, the manual just says 'Support for multiple PCI Express Graphics Cards'; could someone help me please?

Many thanks for any help,

After successful BIOS update (from version 055 to 099), the boot process halts, the Hot CPU LED illuminates, the Memory LED flashes, and the speaker repeatedly beeps 3 times. POST Code 32 is displayed via the onboard LED readout. Any thoughts on what's going on and how to fix it?

DX79SR and USB 3.0 Firmware Updates

I'm sure like most of you, your USB 3.0 ports are not working under Windows 8.  When I saw the firmware updates dated 5/9/2013, I thought finally.  Well after installing the update I can say they still don't work.  I install both updates, front and rear.  The front update processes fine...and those ports may work, but I don't have them hooked up.  The rear update throws the message Device not found!USB.PNG

Any help to get this working under Windows 8, would be much appreciated.

Hello All,

I am using a DX79TO with an i7 3930k.

I want to purchase a Radeon HD7870XT and that card uses PCIE 3.0.

The box of my DX79TO has an * by the PCIE 3.0 saying it would work with processor that supports PCIE 3.0.

So would the i73930k enable PCIE 3.0 support on this board.

Thanks

dq77mk could not recognize the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD when rebooting

Hi,

Has anyone run into the issue of rebooting Intel dq77mk with Samsung 840 Pro 256GB  SSD (MZ-7PD256BW) as the boot disk? The Win8 system can be booted from cold start. But when the system is rebooted without fully powered off, the Samsung840Pro256GB SSD could not be recognized as the boot disk, the system could not reboot.

The dq77mk board was updated with BIOS 0057, and Samsung SSD was updated with the latest firmware released on 12/13/2013 from

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/MZ-7PD256BW

Appreciate if anyone can share the experience on this.

Thank you.

DH77DF Video Problems with Windows 8 and 7

I have a DH77DF MB with a i3-2120 CPU that refuses to work under Windows 8 or 7 with the onboard video enabled. In 64-bit Windows 8 if I have the video enabled I can load the the OS but once it gets to loading drivers it hangs. If I disable onboard video and install a separate graphics card it works fine. In 64-bit Windows 7 the OS loads fine with the standard VGA drivers. As soon as I run Windows update and it installs the drivers for the onboard video it hangs. I have used every driver on Intel's website for Windows 8 and 7. The BIOS is updated to the latest one on Intels website.

Ubuntu 64-bit Linux loads fine. Windows 2008 Server loads fine. No problems with the onboard video. The problem is limited to 64-bit Windows 7 and 8. I have not tried the 32-bit versions.

I have seen similar problems from others but no fix. I am currently running Windows 8 headless with the onboard video disabled under 64-bit Windows 8 but would like to use a monitor.windows

HD4000 vs GTA IV

This conversation is a continuation of HD4000  4es unrelated to GTA4 that may be continued here if your HD4000 crashes when idle: http://communities.intel.com/thread/36836

After their perfected solution by the skilled staff here at Intel... I from this non-crashing environment confirmed by ten days of near tortured crashless uptime, installed sp3 on my winXPro sp2 Intel DH61CR/i3-3225 HD4000 system, rebooted and proceeded to play with GTA IV. This is HD 4000 set to full-time dedicated max 1024mb in bios, with all drivers updated, and eventually i even got the game to run and look beautiful in its stock format only patched to 1.0.4.0. Playing the game, running in a straight line at near full graphics quality was enough to please me. Turning to look around though was horrific, the display drops to single frames per second at best and at worst crashes this very same display driver every single time. Surely the game lacked proper load testing as their non-following camera evidences, but i don't mind lag, this wasn't lag. Graphics level makes little difference, from high 900mb to absolute zero 200mb GTA reported memory usage, turning your view crashes the game; graphics level only changes the time before crash from 1 minute to 10 minutes, with 19 out of 20 crashes in one evening in a standard display freeze-and-reboot message as listed in the last thread and once, my first ever XPro blue screen, in 10 years I've never seen a blue screen. Seriously not since 98. It spoke of an infinite loop, saving my system from the end of the world otherwise as the sound skipped in the background. The majority of the GTA4 crashes resulted from the near instant display of a complex object, such as spinning around to reveal a shiny new taxicab with headlights beaming on you, or suddenly coming across a tremendous and complex sculpture in a park, though two of these instances did not result in crashes but 30-60 second freezes followed by normal play. The crashes always occurred after less than 10 seconds of frozen display

Everyone ignorantly nay says HD4000 as being a movie display system, they say HD4000 absolutely can not play GTA4, but I've seen what it can do, here, as i played on zero graphics for 20 minutes straight in one beautiful instance of mayhem and madness, and elsewhere. I play Far Cry near-full graphics seamlessly, Played I Am Alive 2012 faultlessly, the power is there on my i3-3225 to play tough games, and I've a great tolerance for low frame rate and lag. Crashes aren't part of the deal though. You are close to perfection on these drivers. I've not seen this complex-object crash result in any other game than GTA4, and I've tested dozens of the award wining titles in the 2005-2010 range, GTA IV is alone in its difficulties and universal in its crashing of your Intel software on every instance. Don't stop now your previous updates resolved significant errors. And no one can deny GTA4's girth among gamers. Even us casual types.

XP Frozen HD4000 Graphics, and USB 2.0 burps.

Three months ago i purchased a new Intel DH61CR mobo and i3-3225 chip with HD 4000 from Newegg to replace my rock solid, spectacular Intel P4 2.4 that has been humming away at the end of my home's desk 24/7 for 10 years straight without incident. Best computer I've ever seen. My i3 running a nearly exact but obviously fresh copy of XP sp2 with i3 specific drivers has two incidents that occur every 5 minutes to 5 days without predictability, under hugely varying circumstances, under the heat of fire or in the dead of night, and with absolutely no relation to each other, other than both are wildly unpredictable and at times frequent.

Incident the first: The desktop freezes like a screenshot of itself, when i touch any button the monitor goes power off/display shifting black, then redisplays at 640x480 with a dialog whose Intel error message reads "The igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft." Which i have zero choice but to do, and it does. Forums http://communities.intel.com/thread/12640 tell me Dell users have this exact problem and solve it by rolling back to an older driver (Intel VGA Driver version 6.14.10.4926) unusable to a non-Dell user, I've found their driver, it will not install, saying "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." Because it's not a Dell. My current graphics driver is the newest available at this time: GFX_XP32_6.14.10.5421.exe. There is nothing exotic about my set up. I need this driver for XP32: Intel VGA Driver version 6.14.10.4926. It is not in the Intel archive, or available through search. Intel support should make all older archive drivers available with a simple warning not to use old drivers unless you know what you are doing as hiding old drivers is a bad idea. You're wasting my time by me having to ask for the right software for my new computer function without failing every time i turn around. My new computer does not function correctly with your latest driver.

Incident the second:  My USB 2.0 running on the same OS disconnects and connects instantly without notice , bing-bing i lose then regain a device, never the same device, never the same cause, not even always while in use. It only stops for certain when every single USB device is unplugged. This happens with a well worn game controller, mouse, and external CD writer that all functioned flawlessly on my P4. It happens with any of those single devices plugged in, favoring no device. Forums tell me that my XP Pro sp1 needs no improvement to its USB drivers. Yet again, my new computer is not functioning as expected, this disconnect is not normal. It is wasting my time.

Please advise me how to correct these two problems that this powerhouse of an i3 not live in the shadow of a vastly inferior computer such as my still monolithic P4.

Oh and if you're going to rewrite the graphics driver to fix this issue, please add anti-aliasing support for XP/HD4000 users. It said HD4000 supported MSAA when it bought it, this board is built for XP user support. It does not on XP and failed to say this. I was mislead. But it only does not because the software does not. I see no problem here not solved by Intel breaking out the code...

DZ77GA-70K - Windows 7 X64 - DVD shows as Local Disk

$

My system is a running RST - SDD on Port 0, Raid 1 - Ports 2 & 3 and the DVD's are on Ports 4 & 5.

Latest Drivers - BIOS Version 060 and RST Version 12.5.0.1066

In windows explorer <My Computer - View - Group by Type>  the CD/DVD's show as Local Disk with a HDD icon and the properties are a Local Disk.

I built the system and Win7 x64 was a clean install in January 2013 and explorer showed the DVD's correctly and then one day I got a "Access is Denied" for the DVD which has been solved, however the DVD as Local Disk issue remains.

Also the right click on the DVD drive in the <Hard Disk Drives> group does not include an eject option.

I have tried reinstalling the DVD drivers without success.

Booting in Safe Mode shows the optical drives as CD's and they are in the correct <Device with Removable Storage> Group.

However a clean Boot does not correct the DVD identified as Local Disk problem.

Device Manager and Disk Management both have the DVD's identified correctly.

I have searched the Microsoft community and found others with this problem but the issue is without a defined solution.

However, On the Windows SevenForum I did fine the reference to "support the ATAPI command set" below; suggesting that the motherboard Chipset, BIOS, SATA and Raid may be incompatible for the DVD's.

Computer recognize DVD/RW drive as Local disk on win 7 32bit - Windows 7 Help Forums

"Your computer’s S-ATA connection must support the ATAPI command set.
Some computer motherboards have S-ATA RAID chipsets and/or a BIOS that do not
support the ATAPI command set used by optical disc drives. If you are
unsure, consult your motherboard manual or vendor web site for compatibility,
BIOS versions and BIOS settings."

So, before I swap the DVD's to the Marvel SATA controller I thought I would ask for support.

Thanks in advance..

DG31GL (Refurb) Issues - 4 beeps

I just picked up an Intel Refurbished DG31GL board off of Newegg to replace a dead MSI board.

With everything installed on the board and when I power up the machine I do not get any video out and during post (I assume it's post) I get 4 short beeps.

I swapped RAM (DDR2 - 800mhz) and even pulled the ram. I get the expected 3 long beeps at that point.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on what the 4 beeps could mean? I do not see any reference to it in the manual.

Thanks!

dh 77eb rede lenta demais!

Tirei o windows XP e coloquei o windows seven profissional 32 bits e tbm nada mudou.

Grato

DP76BG network adaptor not working

Hi,

Yet more grief from this board (over a month now, one thing after another)

Finally got to a stage where I loaded Windows 7 64bit but can't get network connectivity.  Installed the LAN driver from the CD provided.  I have managed to ping my router a couple of times, but this doesn't last.  Windows reports no cable.  There is a cable & the cable is OK.  Tried another known good cable. Same problem.

Tried with Vector Linux live disk and still no connectivity so not a Windows problem.

Then tried downloading the driver from Intel & still no joy.

It appears that the system is trying to initialise the LAN adapter as the green socket LED lights up for a period then goes out for a period.  During this cycle, Windows is trying to do something but can't.

I have looked for a list of reasons why the UI would fail and haven't found anything. Is there a utility that can examine the system and provide the reason why acceleration is not an option?

DH61BE: Issues with ALL USB ports

I just built this computer and I installed Windows 7 with no issues.  Originally, it had 048 BIOS and I wanted to upgrade to the latest.  So I first did the 099 update then the 115 update.  Now none of my USB ports work for more than a couple of seconds after the computer boots, including all USB 2.0 and 3.0 and even the front panel USB...  This is frustrating as I'm spending too much time on this!  I can access the BIOS using a PS/2 keyboard and that's about it, but this board is useless with the USB ports...  I've removed one of the two sticks of memory, reset to factory defaults in BIOS and even tried recovery to an earlier BIOS (>099) to no avail.  pr

DN2800MT doesn't boot with TBS6981 PCI-E inserted

Hi all,

I've just bought a DN2800MT to use with my existing TBS6981 dual DVB-S2 card to record TV. Unfortunately the board doesn't boot (no vga output) with the sat card inserted, without it, it's fine. I thought it might be a power issue, as the sat card has additional power socket for use on some motherboards that have low power PCI-E slots, but using external power for the card doesn't help. I read on the TBS forum http://www.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7823&p=27515&hilit=boot+problem#p27515 that other manufacturer's boards have had similar problems that can be fixed by a BIOS update. I tried updating the standard 0163 to 0165 and again to the just released 0166, but neither helped. The sat card works fine without external power in the older system I hope to replace, and I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?

DZ68BC 003X BIOS, I Found The Root Problem (Attention Intel Please Respond)

$
0
0

As the title states I found the root cause of all the misery and agony that DZ68BC users have been encountering with the 003X BIOS.

The root cause is the Intel Management Engine Version.

Initially the DZ68BC was designed to run only one version and that was the Version 7. which works pretty well. Then Introduction of 3rd gen had them Include Version 8 in the BIOS file and by doing so lead to the problems encountered with various versions of the 003x BIOS.

The issues arise coz the BIOS files carry two versions of Intel ME which are 8 & 7, the initial ones did not have both versions in the BIOS files they had only one version hence there were no issues.

I will not go into details of various methods that lead me to this conclusion, unless if any one wants please reply in the thread and i will explain.

DZ68BC Boards that I have tested versions 403 and 402.

The simplest answer and conclusion is Intel should compile 2 separate BIOS files for the DZ68BC

1. For people with 2nd Gen the BIOS should only have the Version 7 Intel ME

2. For people with 3rd Gen the BIOS should only have the Version 8 Intel ME

eg the 0039 BIOS should be two (0039 2nd Gen) and (0039 3rd Gen)

The problem arises when the two are present, and the board cant determine correctly which to install depending on scenario of the set up.

eg If you are to install a 3rd gen you need to have 2nd gen to update then while updating the BIOS the Intel ME stays at the V7 instead of moving to V8 then when you instal 3gen CPU it works but the system becomes unstable mostly with the 0035 BIOS, if you update from 0035 to any 003x or run recovery with same BIOS it moves to V8 the instability is gone but you get Intel ME and PCH issues and if on the 0035 Overclock issue on it.

So its either Intel Complies 2 BIOS for the Board or 1 that has only Version 7 of the Intel ME and they should forget about the Version 8.

Intel PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS acknowledge by also producing a BIOS UPDATE

GMA 3600 series 7x64 drivers....

Today I found out that I have a motherboard that is 64bit capable, but lacks 64bit GPU drivers.

The motherboard is a DN2800MT. After installing 7x64 I was surprised not seeing unidentified hardware (that's a first for me with Windows), however, I noticed straight away that Windows was using the build-in GPU drivers. Those are so basic that even Patience starts complaining about the lack of graphics performance.

Not long after that I found out that Intel refuses to make 64 bit GPU drivers for this motherboard, while there are 64bit chipset, LAN and sound-drivers available. So why make those and not GPU drivers?

Then I found someone on this forum who linked to a beta driver (GFX_Vista_Win7_64_8.15.8.1050_Beta5.exe) that supposedly supports this particular GPU. Well.... after running the driverinstaller and a reboot, I got a BSOD. Another reboot -> BSOD. Safe-mode -> delete GPU driver -> no more BSOD, but crappy graphics performance due to the standard Windows driver being used again.

After a second attempt, not using the driverinstaller but let the device manager install the driver, it seems to run without problems, didn't get BSOD's anymore. Now I haven't tested much, Windows starts, graphics performance increased and Patience is no longer nagging about crappy graphics, gonna try more tomorrow.

Why are you (Intel) still refusing to make a GPU driver for this motherboard for any OS besides 7x86? This motherboard can run 7x64 without problems. The only thing that's a problem is the lack of GPU drivers. And no, I am not gonna switch to 7x86 because the full amount of RAM is not usable in 32 bits OS's.
