Intel Dz77ga-70k board and I7 2600k cpu setup.

I have all options for sleep mode, hybrid sleep mode turned off in the operating system. I have the hard disks set to never turn off as well. Not everytime but sometimes when i turn on computer (from completely powered off state) it shows post code 40.

It has also done this just from screen timeout ?????

I have the Dz77ga-70k board and second gen cpu i7 2600k. I have windows 10x64 installed without any chipset software. Can I or should i use the chipset for 8.1x64. Or is there i chipset for Windows 10 (unable to find it).

for some reason my pc had decided not to let me get into BIOS. F2 key is not working because for some reason my keyboard is not powering on until after OS starts. How can i get to my BIOS. Will the back to BIOS work to fix this, i know it should take me to the screen to choose F2 option but if keyboard is not powering on how do i get there.

I have never used the back to bios button but have read in specs sheet what it does. what i dont know is how to properly use it.

do i press it with pc powered on and running or when pc is off. Does main power supply need to be turned off ????????

How do i use (back to bios) and how to get into it without keyboard working.

Intel Desktop Board DZ77BH-55K front-panel USB doesn't work properly on both boards purchased

Recently a friend and I both purchased one of these boards, only to discover that we had a problem in common.  We have different computer cases, but the front-panel USB 3.0 ports don't work at all when connected to the front panel header on the motherboard.  It does power devices plugged in, but nothing plugged in shows up in Windows 7 x64 or shows any indication of being detected. Additionally, the front-panel USB 2.0 ports exhibit problems [Edit: fixed].  They seem to work properly with some devices, but not others.  For example: an XBox 360 controller works fine, but no USB storage devices that we've tried (thumb drivers, external hard drives, etc.) will mount their storage volumes within Windows.

Everything works fine when connected to the USB ports on the rear panel.

Windows is up to date, the BIOS is up to date and all USB ports are enabled within the BIOS settings.  All latest drivers installed from Intel's download page for this board.  No bangs or missing drivers in Windows Device Manager.

Anyone else with this board experiencing similar problems?  Does anyone actually have the front panel USB 3.0 headers working properly for them?

CPU fan runs faster than front/rear

On a DH67CL, I connected a 3-pin fan to the motherboard CPU fan port. It runs at full speed (1300 rpm) according to BIOS. Then I connected different 3-pin fans to the front and rear fan ports and both fans ran at 800 rpm, much less than their top speed of 1200. Then I disconnected front and rear fans from the motherboard and connected them via a Molex connector and they ran faster (one has a slight whine which becomes annoying at top speed, so it's easy to determine if it's running flat-out). Is it normal for 3-pin fans connected to the CPU fan port to run at full speed while the other ports throttle them back?

In case anyone cares, the reason I am asking this question now is that I moved the system to a new case. Before I had the front/rear fans connected via Molex, but this time I thought I'd try the motherboard ports, something I had not done before.

This pin is missing in my Z87 LGA1150 motherboard, need technical information about it.

This pin (below picture) is missing in my Z87 (asus maximus vi formula) motherboard. I did some research and find out it was a VSS pin (although still need a technical confirmation). From what i heard "motherboards can function without a VSS pin but only if it is bridged to other ground pins." I'm not 100% sure if this is a VSS pin or if it's bridged to other grounds?

I need to be make sure this motherboard can still function with a proper cpu. So i need techinal informations on this matter. Here is the picture:

Higher resolution picture: http://i.epvpimg.com/MKrre.jpg

That would be great to be make sure this motherboard can still work without this pin. Thanks for any technical help!

DZ77RE-75K won't recognize EVGA GTX 1080 FTW

I have a brand new EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and I get no signal at boot after installing it in my Intel DZ77RE-75K motherboard.  EVGA support told me that my motherboard BIOS is probably at fault because the GTX 1080 requires a UEFI BIOS.  I am using the latest UEFI BIOS for the motherboard.  My i7-2700K is still running strong and was hoping I wouldn't need to upgrade everything to get the GTX 1080 to work.    Any suggestions?

Subject :  My Intel DH67CL motherboard is not giving display every time when I switch ON my CPU.

Attachments : 5 JPG files.

Dear all,

I have,

Intel DH67CL motherboard (Version : AAG10212-210. BIOS version : BLH6710H.86A.0160.2012.1204.1156).

Intel Core i3-2120 processor.

Intel Management Engine firmware : 8.0.13.1502 (Its showing in BIOS).

4GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM installed in DIMM1 + 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM installed in DIMM2 = Total 8GB RAM.

Dell S2340L LED IPS 23" HDMI full HD (1920*1080p) monitor.

Western Digital 1TB SATA HDD with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit O/S installed in it & connected in SATA0 port on Intel DH67CL motherboard.

Western Digital 500GB SATA HDD with Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit O/S installed in it & connected in SATA1 port on Intel DH67CL motherboard.

Samsung SATA DVD writter connected in SATA2 port on Intel DH67CL motherboard.

8GB Transcend make USB pendrive.

USB K/B + USB optical mouse.

PC + monitor connected with APC UPS.

Please see below file name attachment for booting sequence & HDD details :

"Booting sequence & HDD details.JPG"

Be note at here :

Intel DH67CL motherboard BIOS configuration jumper position status :

1-2 = Normal

2-3 = Configuration

No jumper = Recovery

Please see below file name attachment for this :

"Intel DH67CL BIOS jumper layout.JPG"

From last few days I am facing below mentioned problem randomly, please guide me about it that why its happening & what will be the technical solution.

Step 01 I am doing :

Problem I am facing : My Intel DH67CL motherboard is not giving display every time when I switch ON my CPU. At the same time, CPU cooling fan & cabinet cooling fan, SMPS (power supply) cooling fan are moving, LED of USB optical mouse is ON but no LED of "Num Lock" & "Caps Lock" even I press these 2 keys one by one on keyboard, both SATA HDD are spinning, DVD trey in-out is also working OK if I press DVD writter's switch, no LED blink on USB pendrive. Multiple times I switch OFF & re-switch ON the CPU but my Intel DH67CL motherboard is not giving display every time& remaining hardwares' symptoms are same as I mentioned above. Randomly & very rarely my Intel DH67CL motherboard will give display (and then boot also either from any O/S which I choose) after so many times of unsuccessful trial of switch OFF & re-switch ON of the CPU.

No beep noise is coming during no display though I set "Enable" option in BIOS for "No Video Detected Error Beeps".

If I am working either in Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit O/S or in Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit O/S & after finishing my work, when I am either doing hibernate or restart or shutdown the PC, there is no guarantee that when I next time switch ON the CPU whether my Intel DH67CL motherboard will give display or not !!!!!

I can't understand why its happening ?

Step 02 I am doing :

As there is no display coming as per above "Step 01", now I switch OFF the CUP. Now I remove BIOS configuration jumper from 1-2 position & insert in 2-3 position, now I switch ON the CPU, then my Intel DH67CL motherboard is giving BIOS display every time !!!!! Here its gives 1st message like "Clear BIOS Passwords - - This will clear BIOS Supervisor and User Passwords. Continue ? (Y/N) ". Though I have not set any Supervisor and User Passwords for BIOS but still I press "Y", so another message will come like : "Please Turn off power and reinstall the jumper in Normal mode position".

Please see below file name attachment for this :

"1st message during BIOS jumper 2-3 position.JPG"

"Exit message during BIOS jumper 2-3 position.JPG"

In this "Step 02" my Intel DH67CL motherboard is giving BIOS display every time & I can see all the menu's of BIOS & I can do changes in it & by pressing "F10" I can save it & can exit from BIOS. Here I can see 4GB + 4GB RAM installed in DIMM1 & DIMM2 so I can not do doubt on any of the RAM module's functionality when PC is not giving display when I am doing "Step 01". Same way I can not doubt on power supply (SMPS) as every time PC is giving display when I connect BIOS configuration jumper in to 2-3 position.

Moreover, since I buyed my PC in August' 2012 year to till date, every 30 days I am blowing air inside the PC's cabinet & inside power supply (SMPS) through air blower machine so dust particles + moisture combination will not create short circuit on electronic components. So since August' 2012 to till date, my DH67CL moherboard always looks like brand new motherboard like intel company is giving to customer in seal pack antistatic bag + box. Though my home, my room are so neat & clean so no problem of dust.

Step 03 I am doing :

I switch OFF the PC, again I remove BIOS configuration jumper from 2-3 position & insert in 1-2 position. I again switch ON the CPU but as usual my Intel DH67CL motherboard is not giving display as I mentioned in above "Step 01".

Step 04 I am doing :

To overwrite my already latest BIOS version 0160 to the same version 0160, I have downloaded "BL0160.BIO" file to FAT32 formatted USB pendrive from (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22273) and followed the steps for "Recovery with USB device" written as per  (http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000005630.html). BIOS version 0160 was overwrite successfully.

Please see below file name attachment for this :

"BIOS version 0160 was overwrite successfully.JPG"

Then I have done "Step 01" & "Step 02" as I mentioned above but result for "Step 01" is as per written in "Step 01" & result for "Step 02" is as per written in "Step 02".

Earlier on 20th October' 2013, I have updated my DH67CL motherboard BIOS from old version to latest BIOS version 0160 & since that date upto few days ago, my PC was working fine & it was giving display everytime I power ON the CPU. This was done under the e-mail guidance from intel customer care as I sent e-mail to "sasupport@mailbox.intel.com" under intel ticket number : 8000790780. But when I approached to intel customer care on "sasupport@mailbox.intel.com", they gently replied me like - - "I regret to inform you that this Board is out of warranty. This Board is end of interactive support from Intel i,e the board is very old board and Intel has stopped support to this board. Hence we will not be able to proceed warranty or technical support to this board".

For this reason, I am asking this problem's technical solution on "intel community".

Step 05 I am doing :

Now I have disconnected PC from APC UPS & PC directly connected to 230 volt 3 pin wall socket & then I have done "Step 01" & "Step 02" as I mentioned above but result for "Step 01" is as per written in "Step 01" & result for "Step 02" is as per written in "Step 02".

Now, I am waiting for possible technical solution of the above mentioned problem in "Step 01".

Thank you all for reading.

DZ68DB Master Key Hard Disk Drive Password

I guess I mistyped my Master Key Hard Disk Drive Password in the beginning. Now when I enter it I get "Invalid Password". Setting BIOS configuration jumper to 2-3 and booting only clears User and Admin Passwords. I never set those anyway. My real issue is that I have a Samsung 840 EVO SSD stuck in an indeterminate mode. I was doing a clean install of Windows XP (as a second drive in a multi-boot scenario - for some legacy Office Programs). During the XP OS install I got a stop: oem.sys has not loaded - Windows may not operate properly, press F3 to exit and start again. I did. Then it hit a BSOD stop. If memory serves, it was either 0xE0000005 or 0x000000E5 (I think), hard drive not found. I booted over to Windows 7 and launched Samsung Magician Software to invoke its Erase Mode to erase this stuck SSD, but it reports password locked, access denied. (How did a password jump onto an SSD with no OS loaded, I ask myself.) Even weirder, when I connect this Samsung SSD to a Motherboard SATA Port, with no other drives attached, I enter motherboard BIOS configuration. I arrow over to Security. There are supposed to be 4 lines. USER PASSWORD - ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD - MASTER KEY HARD DISK DRIVE PASSWORD - HARD DISK DRIVE PASSWORD. The Master Key Hard Disk Drive Password entry and the Hard Disk Drive Password entry are missing. They are NOT missing If I connect the Windows 7 Drive all alone, and they are NOT missing when I connect both the Windows 7 Drive and the stuck SSD on SATA Port 00 and SATA Port 01 respectively. So before going to ask Samsung support for advice, I thought I'd try going to my Motherboard BIOS configuration and clearing the Hard Disk Drive Password, but before you can do that, you need to enter your Master Key Hard Disk Drive Password in order to access the Hard Disk Drive password to delete it.. But apparently I mistyped it. I can't believe I DID that, but I guess I did it. So I'm asking this. I am wondering whether a BIOS recovery would clear those Passwords. I'm referring to the method where you download the XXXXXX.BIOS file, burn it to disc, power down, remove the BIOS configuration jumber completely, and boot to the XXXXXX.BIOS disc and have the PC go into BIOS recovery. Before I try that I'm here to ask if that is a good or bad idea. Also, does that even clear those Passwords. I know this is not really about the Samsung Drive issue. I'm only trying clear these passwords from my motherboard to see if that will release the password "glued" to the stuck Samsung SSD before I go to ask Samsung Support for help. Thanks.

Hello,

Hope everyone good,

I bought a brand new intel DZ87 motherboard. Unfortunately I made bios update but not in the correct sequence, for example from version 1 to version 10 directly without going through updates in a sequence 1,2,3,4,....10. This make the board does not work properly .

Caould u please help be to fix this problem,

Help re-enabling SRT on DZ68BC motherboard

$

I previously had a 2TB HDD accelerated with a 75GB SSD running fine, but HDD crashed.

I restored backup system image into new 2TB HDD.

Now both SSD and HDD are on same ports as my prior setup (Port0, Port1).

I wish to re-enable SRT on the new HDD.

Checking the MB BIOS, it is set to RAID.  But system boots and RST application in Windows no longer has an "accelerate" option.  Both drives are listed independently.

Rebooting and going [Ctrl]-I into the RST BIOS, both drives are reported as "Non-RAID Drive".  From there, "Acceleration" option reports no drive available.  Selecting to "Build new RAID volume" asks me for RAID0 vs. RAID1 vs. Recovery type...neither seemed like the path I expected.

I don't mind restoring HDD again from backup if need to, but how do I get to the stage where I'm able or asked to re-install OS and have the option to turn on SRT?

Thank You!
