Beep Code (3 Times) at the DH67CF

Hello,

I've got a problem with my intel mainboard DH67CF (together with an intel i5-3470t). As some boards of this type, mine gives me also 3 beeps during POST.

I've already checked most options with the RAM:

- changed the RAM several times,

- tried two different types of memory ( both new and tested in a running system, Kingston KVR13N9S8K2/8 1333MHZ 2x4GB with 1.5V and Corsair CMX CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 1333MHZ 2x4 GB with 1.65V),

- used both memory slots (both together, just slot 1 and then slot 2)

- set the jumper on the three possible positions

- disconnected hdd and gpu

- disconnected the cmos-battery after the testings I mentioned before

- then tested the Kingston memory again in all positions without hdd and gpu

Nothing solved my problem with the three beeps.

So far I couldn't get into the BIOS to update it, as somebody said, that for the 3rd generation of intel-processors an update is needed.

Have I forgotten or missed something, or did I just buy a defective board? I bought it as a used one, but it was said to be like new (just used as a service part)...

I would be really glad to get some help!

which sata 2 port to use on DG45ID board

$

Hello Community,

I have a DG45ID Legacy board with the 4 series chipset and I want to install a SSD drive and Win7 Pro. I don't know which port to install the Master drive (SSD), the Slave drive (Spinning 1TB), and the Optical Drives (Blu-ray and DVD).

On the DG45ID there are five SATA2 ports with what appears to be an odd port arrangement on the DG45ID board in that they are not arranged sequentially, but rather as listed here: (I checked via my BIOS to know what was connected & where), ie 3 port arrangement (L-R: port 4, port 1, port 0), and 2 port arrangement (L-R: port 2, port 3).

Now my questions:

Q1- I have read that the Master drive (SSD) should be connected to port 1, so what should go to port 2, port 3, port 4 and what about port 0, what goes there?

Q2- for the ssd, I am installing Win7 for the first time, should I disconnect all other drive except the SSD and switch the BIOS to ACHI for the Installation of Win7 so that I have those drivers installed, and if so, what about the HD and the optical drives which use IDE? I will need those drivers as well, yes?

Q3- I have downloaded all the updated Drivers that I am prepared to install after the OS, particularly the INF Chipset drivers, however I have read on some post that I will need the latest STOR_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV.exe driver which I have downloaded from the Drive page for the DG45ID Board and Kits. I also have read from a poster here on Intel Community (What are the needed drivers for P45 chipset motherboard for Windows 8 running from Intel 520 Series SSD?) that a IRST 11 driver is a better choice and will work for better ACHI Mode support without being in RAID Mode configuration. If I do not plan to run my SSD and HDD in RAID Mode, then (1) do I need to install the IRST drivers at all, and (2) returning to the question of the right drivers for SSD and HDD/Optical Drives with Win7, which drivers should I install?

Q4- Are there any Registry changes that should be made to support the ACHI and/or IDE modes for this 4 Series Chipset?

Thanks

Machine Check Error - IBA GE Slot 00c8 v1365

I might miss mentioning a step or switch the order of events because I did not take notes.

I was using a DZ68BC (BIOS=0028), i5-2500k, 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR3-1333, and Seasonic 650W PSU which has been running for about a year in its present configuration. I powered it off to change SSDs -- I'm playing with Linux distributions -- and when I powered it back on, I noticed that the time was off by hours (it might have been that way before). Okay, so it needed a new battery. I just happened to have a new CR 2032. So I powered it back off and replaced the battery. I powered it back up, changed the time in BIOS, and installed Zorin OS using a CD-ROM I have used a few times already. It finished normally and told me to remove the disc and reboot. That's when things changed.

I removed the disc and pressed Enter as instructed, but instead of rebooting the PC went to a screen I had never seen on this DZ68BC, but I have seen it on my DH67BL, the screen that indicates that it is trying to perform a network boot. That's strange, because I disabled network boot in BIOS, something I always do. Okay, I'd start fresh. I rebooted, entered BIOS, and pressed F9 to return to default, but after saving the system returned to the network boot screen, which kind of made sense because that was now enabled. I rebooted and pressed F10 to select the booting device because I thought everything was normal. However, in the list of bootable devices there were three entries: the CD-ROM drive, the Intel 530 SSD, and IBA GE Slot 00c8 v1365. Oh boy, that's not good.

So I powered down and pulled every add-on card out of the case -- Creative sound card, SIIG USB 2.0, and SIIG USB 3.0 -- because that message looked like the PC wanted to boot from a PCI or PCIe slot. I powered up and immediately after the BIOS screen saw the message Machine Check Error. Oh boy, big trouble. I rebooted again and saw the same message. I powered down, removed the battery, and let it sit for a five minutes. I put the old battery back in, hit the power switch, and saw the blue light flicker just for a second and the fans started turning, but then it shut down. I tried it again with the same results. I switched back to the new battery, but same results.

It looks like either the processor or the board is toast. I just happen to have a spare DH67CL board and a spare Sandy Bridge processor to try both components, but I'd like to hear the official explanation of Machine Check Error and IBA GE Slot 00c8 v1365. I understand there is no warranty. I will update this post as I learn more.

UPDATE: It's the board. I bread-boarded the DH67CL with the same memory sticks and i5-2500k and it booted right up into BIOS. Oh well, the DH67CL always worked okay. Scott will be ecstatic to know that the DH67CL BIOS was updated into Sandy / Ivy territory from before.

DZ68BC-BSOD Twice a week

As Princess Lia once said "Help me Obi Wan Kanobi (Intel Discussion Board) you're my only hope"

After a few months after I upgraded to Win 10- a few things started to happen.

At least twice a week- BSOD_

With that, the MB would take allot longer to boot to up- about a minute or two before the F2,F7, options would show up in the lower RHS of screen.

My anti-virus, ESET updated and does have the Boot scan enabled- which might be the reason.

Then after the window screen appears- about a minute more before my wireless mouse and keybd will operate.

I have tried the suggestions here on this thread-

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/bsod-win-10/495dcf70-6dc3-4c02-90dd-bc1b832798a3?page=1

I have updated the video driver & Gig. Ethernetcontroller no problem-

But the SATA driver update suggested in the thread above leads to a BSOD- Not sure it is the right one as I do not use RAID on my drives.

I have not updated the BIOS as of yet- nervous about it to tell the truth. I want to clone my HD first just in case.

I have ran a MEM test- no problems, and OS is up to date-

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Windows 10 compatibility with DH77EB motherboard with the RAID 1 Mirror

Is Windows 10 compatible with the Intel DH77EB motherboard with the RAID 1 Mirror function enabled? Intel is showing drivers for Windows 8 but not Windows 10. I am thinking that it will work with Windows 10 without the RAID, but concerned that it will not work with the RAID. Thanks for any advise.

How do i fix corrupt BIOS in DH61WW

Hello people,

I encountered an issue when I was updating my BIOS. I preferred not to update, but a software (Actually came in as a malware) forced me to. It installed 0099 build of BIOS using the exe method, and the PC did not boot after that. Tried the F7 Update via USB disc, no help. The PC gets stuck at the "Hit Enter for Yes and Escape for No" dialog. Tried the recovery BIOS flash method, but my PC does not display anything for a long time. I also tried removing the CMOS Battery and clearing. Now I believe that my board is bricked. Is there any way to fix it? Will the Intel center be able to fix it?

P.S. my Intel Management Engine shows version 0.0.0.0. The thing that went wrong was that it flashed 0099 over 0016 which I realised after the flash was over.

DZ77SL-50k audio driver problem

$

I built a custom gaming rig out of somewhat cheapish parts. Everything is working fine except the audio. No matter what I do, I can't seem to force the drivers to install correctly. Below is a list of everything I tried already and a complete list of the parts I've got plugged together. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Rosewell RISE ATX Full tower | with front panel audio

Intel DZ77SL-50K | no cards in any PCI/PCIE slot

2nd generation Intel Core i3 3.3GHz quad core processor | with integrated graphics | Socket 1155

     1 4GB DDR3 module

Gamer's Edition 12V ATX power supply

Assorted mass storage devices in the USB ports | HDMI connection displaying video with the same driver problem for audio | LAN Broadband connection | External Apple optical drive (USB 2.0)

     Windows 7 Professional x64

Problem drivers (the ones recommended by Intel): RealTek HD Audio driver | Intel Display Audio Driver

     1. Windows installed with the front panel audio cable unplugged from the motherboard with the BIOS set to disable audio, so I went back and plugged it up properly and fixed the BIOS settings | BIOS updated

     2. Any combination of uninstalling, disabling, reinstalling, clean installing, different version seeking, and automatic updating from every possible software distributor you can think of | Also asking Microsoft for drivers online through the native tool never completes. It just searches for drivers forever.

The problem is across the board, no audio devices detected though there are at least three audio sources connected to my motherboard counting display audio, all unable to properly install any driver. I'd be grateful if anyone's got an idea what might be causing the problem, and I know being a custom build makes the problem somewhat more complicated.

DH55TC Motherboard installed with wrong BIOS?

$

I have a DH55TC motherboard, this board is supposed to have BIOS of [TCIBX10H.86A] but when I checked my BIOS version it says [TCIBX10H.44T].0010.2010.0628.1443, 6/28/2010. Express BIOS update isn't working because of this and I'm worried that if I update through DOS by booting with a flashdrive, I might end up with a paperweight. I need some help. I've been trying to upgrade my RAm for the past 2 weeks, this is the only thing that's preventing my PC from booting up.
