Should I be concerned about RST verification errors?

$

0

I have a RAID 10 array on my DP55WG.  I am running Rapid Storage Technology in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've gotten into the habit of doing a Verify every few days because of some problems I was having.  I always come up with 0 blocks with media errors, and I know that’s good, but I also always come up with a fistful (20 to 60) of verification errors.  Almost all (or perhaps all) of them are in the first 10% of the verification process.   Is this something I should worry about?

Neither the user’s interface nor the help file tells us much about what is going on.  It may be normal to get this number of errors.  Perhaps they are tabulated, but always corrected by ECC.  I’m hoping someone more informed than me will weigh in.  If it is something to worry about, what can I do?

DQ77KB no video no post no beeps

I bought a dq77kb mainboard and I cannot get to show information on a display.

Also the keyboard numlock led does not light up.

The processor is in the compatible procs list

its a i3-3220T processor. The cpu fan start to run. I have a headset plugged in and I do not hear any beeps

When I remove the memory I hear the 3 beeps.

I can't go to the bios as I can see anything. It appears the usb ports don't get power.

I would try a bios upgrade if I could, but it doesn't get to that stage. So no POST either. Tried clear CMOS with power cable dettached, doesn't help

All of this has also been performed out of the chassis with only one memory card in place, no connections but the power switch. It starts running it gives no unusual led activity and no beeps.

The processor is compatible and I don't have any other processors.

The power is connected externally and it has 90 Watts. It boots up an hp laptop nicely with no issues.

I followed all the troubleshooting steps but don't know what else there is I can do.

I have seen multiple posts regarding similar issues. They have not been answered by Intel here:

recently recieved a new intel DX79SR from an RMA due to my old one going out.  well i installed everything back into it as it was previously and now on top of what appears to be my heatsink(h20 920) going out, my computer is blinking red the WD Fire LED on the motherboard.  i tried reapplying thermal paste checking the temp of the processor to make sure it wasn't overheating and it still does this it was also giving 3 long beeps but i moved the ram around a bit and that fixed the beeps.  i'm actually wondering if the heatsink is the issue or if the motherboard is defective at this point.  also it was odd if i had the memory in certain slots it would read as defective ram but moving them into different slots made it read as functioning. wondering if on top of this WD fire LED blinking if the memory slots themselves aren't defective.

useless RAID5 performance with rapid storage-technology

$

Hi friends,

I am currently running out of ideas to find the reason for my RAID 5 Performance problem with the IRST system. May be someone can help me.

I got  a GA-H57M-USB3 Board , because it seems to be a good choice for a low power PC in combination with the i5 650 when using the build in GP of the CPU. Also it should support RAID5 for the Intel SATA Controller, so I hoped to replace my “energy eating” Synology DS508 RAID system as well.

The board is running fine and power consumption is nearly as expected, but the problem is that the RAID5 mode seems to be useless because it is extremely slow.

On different sides I found a lot of threads regarding the RAID5 speed problems with the IRST software and some of them seem to be fixed. But none of these tips fixed my problem.

I currently use 4 x 1TB 2,5” Toshiba disks. I had ordered 6 but 2 of them did not pass my tests with the smartctl utility.  Installed is the latest driver version from the Intel Download side (10.1.0.1008).  Used Software: Win-7 64 Bit(Business), smartrctl, ATTO Disk Benchmark.

Win7 is installed on a single SSD which is connected to the first SATA port of the other SATA Controller. This should make sure that the RAID system is in power safe mode, most of the idle time.

For the RAID5 Problem I made the following tests:

-          Disabled Array and checked all disks in single mode: Read and Write speed was between 80 and 100 MB/sec

-          Read/Write checked the single disks(not array configuration) by copying 100 GB of data across. All fine. So hardware and cabling must be fine.

-          Used only 3 disks in the array (idea: 2TB limit) . Does not fix the problem.

-          Played around with different stripe sizes. No change.

-          Double checked the disks with smartctl

Currently the “Initialization” is running, but after 24 hours it has just reached 30%. I do not believe that this is normal?
And do not believe that this will fix the problem.

ATTO.gif

I think I must not say that this test needs hours :-(

hi everyone,

hope you'll understand my problem,my english is poor just a little.

I have a DH61WW for a 2 years now,but I never connected a external graphic card.

last week I bought a PowerColor HD 7750 from a friend which perfect working condition,

and connected to my DH61WW but it gave me no signal (blank-black screen since boot cant do anything).I thought my PCI-E x16 slot remain

dust or something,so i cleaned it,and re-seated the card but the problem is still.

BIOS indicate PCI-E x16 slot is empty (not populated)

i spent countless time with this mess and gave up and connected a HD4850 to my DH61WW.

with a big suprise HD4850 working great on my DH61WW and my HD7750 working perfectly on my friend's PC.

now im kind a lost in this issue and dont know what to do.

I have updated to the latest bios (without any single error )

I have followed the removing CMOS battery solution for 1 hour and re connected (out of chassis without power cables)

HD4850 working perfect on DH61WW which means the board have not any fault.

HD7750 working perfect too on my friend's that means the card have not any fault too.

please help guys.... i saw a member of intel community named sylvia_intel is giving options for many issues cant find him or she

Hello everyone,

I have a DH61WW board with i5-2320 (2nd generation), 8 GB RAM, W7-64bits. I installed the radeon r7 260X (with external power) and the computer does not inicializes and there is no video signal (monitor LED flashing). Removing the graphics card micro operates satisfactorily.

My bios had an old version (v. 20) and updated to v. 35 (still a little old) thinking it might help but the same problem occurs.

The graphics card has not been tested on another computer.

Any tips? tks

DB85FL boot menu not working after BIOS update

$

Hello

I just applied the latest BIOS upgrade available for my DB85FL : Intel® Download Center, but right after the successful installation, when the computer boots and I press the F10 key in order to access the boot menu, the list appears with a single element listed in it, usually the network card. Even if I try to boot from USB or from a different drive than the default system drive, the list always displays a random single element, but when I access the BIOS, the drive list shows all the connected drives, including the network card and the USB thumb drives. The F10 boot menu used to work flawlessly before the upgrade, so I don't know if I have to do a downgrade on the BIOS version to get the menu to work properly (I don't know if that downgrade is possible). I've tried everything from enabling and disabling different options in the BIOS settings to unplugging the physical drives but nothing seems to work. I use the boot menu option most of the time because I have different operative systems installed in different drives, so it's really important for me to have it working properly.

This is what I have

Intel DB85FL

8 GB RAM DDR3 1333 MHz

1 TB Drive (Win) SATA3

250 GB Drive (Linux) SATA3

250 GB Drive (Mac -iAtkos-) SATA3

DVD RW Drive (SATA)

Thanks in advance.

hi

iam running a Intel DH77KC board and recently upgraded my Core i5 3470 with a Xeon E3-1230 V2 processor, I fitted the processor correctly following all safety guidelines and powered on the system. The PC turns on but there is no video signal to my monitor which is connected via HDMI to my graphics card (NVIDIA GTX 970) and the no video audio tone is heard. I have no idea what could be wrong as the board is updated to the latest BIOS and supports the Xeon processor I fitted in.

Thank You.

I found various threads but most of them indicated a bad SATA cable to be the issue. Since this is a mSATA drive which is directly attached to the mainboard there's no cable involved.

Then I found a thread on this forum indicating a voltage problem. Can anyone confirm compatibility issues with this mainboard+msata combination?

Is there a way to override and manually adjust the voltage in the BIOS to provide the msata drive with the appropriate voltage?

Hi there, I have an Intel Desktop Board DB75EN BIOS Version 0046 and I am having trouble booting into Windows.  Now I recently updated my BIOS to 0046 and ever since then I can't boot into Windows.  I've tried changing the Boot Order, turning off Optical Drive boot etc and Nothing seems to work.  Now for my Boot drive order i see SATA : Port 6G 0 : Hitachi HDS723020BLA642 : PART 0 : Boot Drive, then I have UEFI : SATA : PORT 6G 0 : Windows Boot Manager : Part 1 : OS Bootloader, then I have SATA : PORT 3 : HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH14NS40, and finally UEFI : SATA : PORT 6G 0 : Hitachi HDS723020BLA642 : Part 1 :OS Bootloader.  Now these options are under boot menu type Advanced.  Under boot menu type nornal the Hard Driver Order is as follows: [P0: Hitachi HDS723020BLA], [], [], [], [], [].  Now I've tried changing the boot order multiple times, but i can't seem to get it to boot to the hard drive.  I do have pictures of my bios, but I can't seem to insert them for some reason.

I seem to be having some trouble with my wired network adapter built into my DX58OG motherboard.

I'm on Windows 7 64bit and in Device Manager under Network adapters > Intel(R) 82567LF Gigabit Network Connection I get the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

This happened suddenly earlier today. My PC did crash but this shouldn't have killed the adapter. Anyway I've tried the following:

Nothing seems to work. Do anyone have any ideas?

Event Viewer: irstrtsv error: Unable to read LBA sector via passthru

I have a DZ77GA-70k MB running Win7-64 and RST Raid-1.

I was troubleshooting another problem and I see this irstrtsv error in the Event Viewer.

"Error: Unable to read LBA sector via passthru. : The request is not supported."

<See attached screen shot of the Event Viewer>

The first 6 irstrtsv errors after system startup are:

"Error: Unable to read LBA sector directly. : The system cannot find the file specified."

Then the balance of the errors have the passthru reference.

My system has been running for over a year (since Jan2013) and this error started on Jan.10, 2014 of this year.

I do not see a performance issue due to the error and the problem I was troubleshooting deals with Windows Backup: VSS, SPP errors when the backup fails to complete.

This irstrtsv error occurs when the system starts, there is a cluster of 6 errors in a few seconds, then repeats every 5 minutes with another cluster of 6 irstrtsv errors and continues until I shut it down.

A couple of days ago I upgraded the RST to the latest driver 12.8.0.1016 and that did not solve the problem.

I don't remember changing the system BIOS or RST configuration or loading any application in January or in or around 1/10/2014.

Any thoughts.

Thanks,

Rod...

DH55TC not supporting RAM above 8GB

$

Hello,

I am having a Intel DH55TC motherboard with an i3 processor and WIndows 7 (64bit) Ultimate on my machine. Currently, I am having 8 GB of RAM on my board and it's working perfectly fine.

Now, due to some new requirements, I want to increase my RAM to 12 GB by adding one more 4GB module. After inserting the new RAM making a total of 12 GB, the BIOS is detecting 12GB of RAM but the OS boots up very slowly...taking around 10-15 mins and then it also runs very slow. The moment I reduce the total RAM to anything less than or equal to 8GB, things start running smoothly.

Can anyone please guide me - what should I do next?

Thanks,

Vinay Pugalia
