DQ45CB+UEFI+Windows 8.1

I am attempting to install Windows 8.1 Pro x64 in EFI mode on the Intel DQ45CB motherboard. The BIOS version is the latest (133 released in 2011) and defaults have been loaded, before enabling UEFI and AHCI modes. I have been able to boot into the EFI shell, format the HDD correctly(four partitions for EFI) and began installing Windows 8.1. However, after Windows Installation does it's first reboot, I am unable to continue the install. Booting from the HDD(which does show an EFI boot partition) I get a message about kernel not being found and I am presented with options to try and boot into safe mode, etc. My installation method is DVD as USB boot does not appear to be supported in EFI mode. I have looked at guides for other Intel motherboards and have not been able to figure out what to try next. Any help is appreciated.


Crackly noise after sleepy time on DZ68BC

I have a PC which originally had a DH67CL and a Creative sound card. I bought a DZ68BC to replace the DH67CL. All but one of the other components are the same: i5-2500K, Crucial Ballistix Tactical RAM, sound card, and 650W PSU. The only exception is that I replaced the hard drive with a 730 SSD and used the WDC hard drive as a data drive. Sound-wise, the system was fine with the DH67CL.

 

Now, however, after the system goes to sleep and wakes up, the sound is crackly and distorted. A reboot is necessary to remove the noise. Obviously the sound card could be the source of the problem, but it's equally likely that some device driver is to blame. I did remember to disable the on-board sound. The BIOS is 28, so I cannot blame it on Ivy Bridge BIOS. I am not over-clocking this system. The chipset mode is AHCI for both SATA controllers. I originally installed RST, but I uninstalled it.

 

The only thing I can think of is to revert the Creative device driver back to the one intended for Vista/7 (I was using the newest one for Vista/7/8), but Creative device drivers usually don't revert cleanly in my experience. Has anyone run into this problem? Could the fact that RST was installed and then uninstalled have anything to do with it? If no one has any ideas, I'll wipe the SSD and reinstall W-7, only with no RST and the older device driver.

How can I stop the Intel Integrator Toolkit BIOS Installer from auto rebooting during bios update process?

Hi! 

 

I am in a situation where I need to be able to prevent the Intel Integrator Toolkit bios installer from auto rebooting. I am running the bios update tool within an SCCM image deployment. The bios update tool auto reboots and breaks the rest of the deployment process, preventing other scripts from running. I'd like to not auto reboot, then reboot the machine after my other scripts run.

 

I tried some switches and options to prevent the auto reboot, but I cannot find any proper documentation on the options and switches for the installer.

 

We are updating the DQ77MK Intel Desktop board on Windows 8.1 x64, and we are using the Windows installer file version. (not PE or DOS)

How To Make DZ87KLT-75K Fully Compatible With Haswell Refresh e.g. (Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon)

I figured out how to make the DZ87KLT-75K fully compatible with Haswell refresh, in this post i confirm with a Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon runs perfectly on the motherboard, short story is i had an i7-4770K initialy and happend to be in a position that allowed me access to the i7-4790K brand new boxed since i got it to work its now my main CPU in the DZ87KLT-75K

 

Before the steps as we all know the Haswell refresh CPUs are detected correctly in any 8series board by Intel, so what causes them not to function correctly is the Intel Management Engine (Intel ME), intel decided not to update the ME while updating BIOS, so the trick is just to update the Intel ME to aversion that come around same time as the Haswell refresh.

 

Steps

Assuming you have downloaded all the correct required files

 

1. I installed Core i7-4790K

2. Switched on PC booted into windows

3. I then followed steps to install

 

Intel ME 9.0 Consumer 1.5MB Firmware v9.0.31.1487

 

using this tool

 

Intel FWUpdate Tool for ME 9.0 Firmware v9.0.22.1467

 

I used the win tool in windows not dos

 

Everything went well shut down the PC then powered on again and all was well, restarted several times, even tinkerd with memory settings saved several times, run a stability test for 8 hour and all was ok

 

Intel ME files are found on this website along with all the necessary tools and instructions

DQ87PG - USB boot devices don't show up in F10 boot menue

If've configured my BIOS to *not* boot USB devices first. Booting from USB is enabled as well as the F10 boot menue. There are two SSD in my PC and the the first SSD is the boot device (legacy boot).

 

So far I could insert a bootable USB flash drive and when pressing F10 there was a list with my two SSDs and the flash drive which I could select and boot from.

 

The only change I've made since is updating the BIOS from 148 to 149.

 

When pressing F10 now, there are only my two SSD - no USB flash drive shows up.

 

The only way to boot from an USB flash drive now is to enable to boot USB devices first which isn't desirable nor practical.

 

It seems that BIOS 149 screwed something up, so please fix it!

DH87RL and 3 Displays

I can't get a DH87RL board running Windows 8.1 to do extended desktop across 3 attached displays.  Extended desktop works for any 2 of the 3 displays but not all 3 concurrently.  An error message "The display settings could not be saved.  Please try a different combination of display settings".  I've tried several recent releases of Intel HD Graphics drivers for Win8.1 with the same results.  BIOS is the latest 0323.

 

Displays 1 & 2 are HP 2311f monitors (1920x1080) and display 3 is an HP w1907 (1440x900).  The second 2311f monitor is driven through a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter cable that works great.  The w1907 monitor is connected to DVI.  Does anyone know whether DH87RL can fundamentally drive 3 displays concurrently, or perhaps this is a bug?

DQ45CB cannot record

Have just installed Win7 (and afaik all the correct driver) everything looks OK in device manager. But after installing Adobe Audition

I'm told (when I try to record)

 

A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system.

 

An error was generated by your sound card.  It may not be properly configured - reinstall your sound

card driver, check the sound card documentation and, if necessary, contact the sound card

manufacturer to help you resolve this hardware error.


I tried another version of Audition to see if any different, and when loading it says

 

The currently installed soundcard driver does not support

DirectSound Input. Recording audio is not possible.

 

 

Attempting to record shows

 

The selected input port or ASIO driver is invalid.

Please change your settings in the Audio Hardware Setup

dialog.


But there is just one Audio Driver there "Audition Windows Sound"

and the other settings are not clear. 

 

With previous Win XP and a non Intel motherboard, these all worked with nothing else needed.

Hi Community,

 

I have recently upgraded my media PC to Windows 10 Professional x64 from Windows 7 Professional x64 and the process was fairly smooth. Unfortunately, I have been unable to succeed trying to configure HDMI audio since the upgrade. This was working perfectly in Windows 7 but upon me upgrading to Windows 10 there appeared to be no drivers for a High Definition Audio Device in my Device manager list.

 

I went to the Intel Download Center and made sure I was using the latest available drivers and upgraded my BIOS just now to the latest revision but still no success.

 

To be more precise, I am able to view an image via HDMI and this is my primary video output (TV). I am able to have audio sent via the analogue jacks and the optical jack just fine. Windows and the Realtek software simply do not have support for HDMI audio for some reason.

 

My Realtek Driver Version is: 6.0.1.7535 (this is newer than the latest version listed on Intel's site by a significant margin and appeared to ship with Windows 10).

 

What else should I check on my end to make sure it is simply not a misconfiguration by me? Has anyone else had a similar issue and managed to resolve it?

Network not working after upgrade to Windows 10 I217-V

Hello,

 

I tried to update to Windows 10 with my DH87RL-Board. Sadly, the network adapter doesn't work with Win 10 (its shows: no connection available). It is the onboard I217-V ethernet adapter, I have the newest driver from 18.06.2015 (12.13.14.4). Does anybody know about a workaround? Would very much appreciate any hint!

Does Win10 include drivers for DZ77BH-55K?

I want to clean-install Win10 on my DZ77BH-55K mobo. Since this board is no longer actively supported, Intel only distributes drivers for Win8. If I clean-install Win10, will I need to add additional drivers, or does Win10 have the drivers it needs. If I do need to add drivers, will the Win8 packages install, or must some other method be employed?

 

Thanks for any tips. I could just try the installation and see what happens, but I prefer to figure out pitfalls in advance when possible. I suppose other owners of older-but-viable mobos may have the same question. Has it been addressed elsewhere?

DZ77BH-55K intel 7 series c216 chipset family sata ahci controller

Hello,

 

I recently received a replacement DZ77BH-55K board from Intel and have been having issues with the Intel Sata 3 (6GBs) ports not working with my new Sandisk Extreme pro SSD.

 

Firstly, I was unable to install Win7 onto my new SSD with it connected to the Marvel or Intel Sata 3 ports - the SSD either wasn't displayed or it wouldn't allow me to install Win7 to it. I anticipated this because this occurred on the board I have had replaced, so I simply fitted it to the INTEL Sata 2 port(s). Once installed, I played around with trying to boot with the SSD connected to the INTEL Sata 3 ports. It didn't matter whether it was port 0 or port 1, sometimes the SSD wasn't listed in BIOS and when it was, I received a Disk Read Error after the splash screen when it tried to boot.

 

The SSD boots successfully every time when it is connected to the Sata 2 ports. Sometimes, when I remove the intel 7 series c216 chipset family sata ahci controller driver whilst the SSD is in the Sata 2 port, reboot and allow windows to locate and re-install the controller, I shut the PC down, reattach the SSD cable to the INTEL Sata 3 port(s) and it boots successfully - but this is only when it feels like it. For example, it may boot and reboot (boot from restart) successfully all day, whilst connected to the INTEL Sata 3 port. But when I shut my PC down for the night and boot up again in the morning, the boot fails and I am forced to connect back to the Sata 2 port(s).

 

 

So I presume it is a drive issue. On the Intel download page for my mobo, there is no specific drive for the Intel 7 series C216 chipset family Sata AHCI controller. The current driver is version 9.3.0.1029 dated 25/07/2013. On the DZ77BH-55K drive page, there is nothing listed with that driver date, which is curious.

 

Incidentally, when the SSD is connected to the Marvel Sata 3 ports, even stranger things happen. Sometimes it takes an age to reach the splash screen, but boots successfully, sometimes it doesn't boot at all.

 

Also, the my SSD firmware is up to date, and there are no reported occurrences of this SSD having these issues. The curious thing is, when it does boot whilst connected to the Sata 3 port(s), it is actually a few seconds slower than with the SSD connected to the Sata 2 port(s).

 

This is now my third replacement board from Intel, so any help or advice in this matter would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

 

EDIT:

I have managed to update the AHCI driver using the latest RAID driver. Unfortunately, this has not resolved the problem, and now the SSD is not even detected by the BIOS when connected to the Intel Sata 3 ports. But the boot remains sucessful when connected to the Intel Sata 2 ports.

Hi all. I recently bought (2 weeks ago) a brand new DZ77BH-55K to breathe some new life in to my old rig. I'm using an i5 2500k, 8g (2x4g) adata 1600 ram, Silicon Power 240 ssd,  and a Seagate Barracuda 1TB Hdd. I have read numerous horror stories of bios updates gone wrong and I wish to avoid these problems. I started updating the bios from 0057 by updating each new bios one at a time in the order of release. I am now stuck at 0083with this error message: Flashing image  for Intel Management Engine Firmware [Failed]. I read in a post on this site a person with  a similar problem was advised to install 0083 then to update to the most recent. at the time of the post it appears 0087was the most recent, now however there is 0100. Can anyone tell me the best way to get my bios from 0083 to the most recent? thanks in advance

What is iCLS Client?

I have an HP laptop. I believe it has an Intel motherboard because it has a Management Engine device driver installed. In C:\Program Files\Intel there is a folder called iCLS Client. I never installed anything with iCLS in the name. In that folder is a text file called Third Party Licenses and it mentions OpenSSL toolkit. My desktop systems, all with Intel motherboards, do not have this iCLS folder. What is iCLS associated with?

DH61BE Not Getting Past BIOS Splash

After a bios flash to fix a graphics card problem, which did work, the bios now doesn't get past the Intel splash, Intel board. I can select boot menu but when I select my hard drive it freezes. I can also go into the bios settings and that seems to be functional. Any help would be appreciated.

DQ77KB doesn't start (doesn't turn on)

Hello. I have 2 DQ77KB boards. All of them worked fine but suddanly one of them stoped to turn on.

I had try components (CPU,RAM, Power Supply) from this motherboard on second MB for exclude the probability of malfunction of them. All components work fine.

When I connect power supply and RJ-45 cable to workable MB i have seen 2 LEDs - 1 led on MB (green) and 1 LED on RJ-45 port (green), than I pressed "start" button on the Case and coller begins to rotate.

When I connect power supply and RJ-45 cable to not workable MB i have seen 1 LEDs - 1 led on MB (green) and all. When I pressed "start" button on the Case coller doesn't rotate.

The version of BIOS probably is 0056.

What is the cause of the problem and what to do?

DB65AL CMOS Battery-Related Issues

Hello. I am having issues with Intel Desktop Board DB65AL.

 

The issues are as follows:

  1. Delayed boot. Whenever I power/restart the PC, it takes a while (nearly 10 seconds) for the actual boot to start, the monitor's LED simply blinks indicating that it's not receiving anything, fans are spinning inside the case.
  2. Lack of internet connection upon first boot. Restarting the PC resolves this.

 

This started when my GPU (AMD Radeon HD 6870) started dying. I have tried another GPU (AMD Radeon R9 270) but PC wouldn't boot with it. I tried re-adding the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS settings, but that didn't help. Right now I'm using the integrated GPU of Intel i5-2500. So, later on when I booted the PC, I was greeted with CMOS battery failure warning. So I tried to re-seat it and the battery itself worked fine but then new issues arose: delayed boot and lack of internet on first power on. The battery is somewhat loose in its holder, compared to how it should be according the 360 degree view found on Intel site, however I have tried to make it "sit right", but that didn't help.

 

There's also the issue that without the battery or with battery not being in absolutely perfect position (still working, but I guess the mobo wants it sit perfectly), PC tends to shut down and restart itself sometimes multiple times when trying to restart the PC, which leads to lack of internet connection as it counts as power off - power on rather than a restart without powering the PC off.

 

Anything I could do?

 

PC specs:

  • MB: Intel DB65AL
  • CPU: Intel i5-2500 3.4GHz
  • GPU: Integrated (was Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6870)
  • PSU: Corsair CX600 ATX12V (v2.2)
  • RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 1333MHz
  • SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
  • OS: Windows 10

Hello, I have updated my support request advising my compatiblity issues with the replacement DZ77BH-55K board continue. I recently upgraded to Win10 and it seems this has compounded the issue rather than resolve it due to the lack of updated drivers.

 

 

Having be offered a refund on this ticket for my previous faulty board (DH67CL), I have uploaded my invoice on a number of occasions, but I haven't had a reply that it has been received. If I could be updated on the process of my refund, it would be greatly appreciated.
