Problem with HDMI audio using intel hd 4600 graphics

Hello,

I've got a huge problem regarding my hdmi audio in my intel dq87pg board. The setup is the following:

HTPC  -> Displayport to HDMI Adapter -> Onkyo AV Receiver -> TV

OS is Windows 8.1, Graphic drivers etc. are the latest.

if the TV and the AV Receiver is on when I start the HTPC, everything works fine. But if it is switched off while booting, the computer does not find any hdmi audio device when the receiver is turned on later. The same happens when av receiver is on during boot and the sound works and I restart the AV reveiver or replug the cable in between.

I've tried nearly everything, different drivers, reinstall windows etc, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a solution?

Many regards

Florian

R9 280x and DP67BG. Are there any solutions? Please help!

I have a Intel DP67BG motherboard.  Just purchased a lovely new Radeon R9 280x with the last of my savings.

My current card is the HD6950.  Took it out and replaced it with the R9 280x.  Upon boot I get a quick bios screen flash as per usual, but then the screen goes black, with only a   0_   at the bottom right of the screen.  The weird thing is I can hear windows booting up and everything, even connecting to our wireless network etc.

HAve done some googling and it seems that this particular motherboard isn't compatible with the newer graphics cards.  This is really really bad news for me as I have no more budget to change motherboards.

ARe ther any solutions?  Please help!!

Here's an example of another person with this problem.  But not sure if he could solve it or not:  https://communities.intel.com/thread/51064

DH87MC - BIOS ISSUE

I am using intel board DH87MC. The system is not getting boot for the first time and the display is blank. I got the following error message, when I switch off/on it again, "BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s)... Press "Y" to enter Setup or "N" to cancel and attempt to boot with previous settings.". When I press N the pc restarts and works normally. This error I am getting from the day one. I have contacted Intel support and they've suggested the following to do.
1. Update the Bios to the latest
2. Change the CMOS battery
3. Test the board with Intel recommended components.
4. Check with another processor.
I have done with all the suggestions but the issue is still persisting. I have also checked with the Intel communities and its appears to be, similar issue is facing by many users.

Please help me to get rid of this issue.

Thanks

DH87MC cold boot issue

We have an Intel DH87MC based system that fails to POST if the power is disconnected from the mainboard for any reason.  While power is continuously connected, the system starts, restarts etc. normally.  If the power is disconnected, when you reconnect the power and press the 'power' button, the system fan starts and continues to run, the hard drive makes noise for about 2 secs, but there is no POST and no display.  If you momentarily disconnect the power again and reconnect (or hold the power button for 5 secs to cut power to the mainboard) the system then starts again and there is a screen advising that the BIOS failed to POST on previous attempt.  We 'cancel' to continue and the system boots into Windows just fine.  We had this problem with the BIOS that came preloaded on the board and updated to the latest (version 47) as suggested by Intel Australia channel support, but we still have the problem.  We've also tried different speed RAM, with and without PCI graphics card, new BIOS battery etc.  We just can't deliver a computer to a customer and tell them that they have to perform certain tricks to get it going if it ever loses power to the mainboard.  And seeing as the customer has to take it home to his home and set it up on his desk, then he will certainly have to perform those tricks the first time he tries to start it.  I'm hoping somebody has an answer because we won't get paid until the customer gets his working computer.DH87

Hello,

i have some problems with Intel DH87MC board and i5 4460 possessor,

first i put the i5 4460 and there was no boot or post screen so i check the net to see if my motherboard is compatible to the possessor, by Intel site, it is: Compatible Processors

i update the bios to 0155 with different possessor (i3) and and it work great! for check is install Windows 7 and everything was well.

than i put back the i5 4460 and i have screen and post i enter the bios configuration and configure it. after i press F10 to save, the board wont boot up. no screen and no post again.

so i power off manually and the broad is back to life.

i try to install windows 7 but every time the computer is restart it wont boot back! i need to power off\on manually.

so this is my problem, the motherboard cant boot after restart at any point or way. not from bios or ctrl+alt+del or anything!

i try to go back to bios 0154 but i have the same problem.

if you have any idea, ill be grateful!

DG965WH Driver issues

Have a DG965WH with Intel E6600 cpu running with Windows Home Server 2003 sp2.  Had to reload OS and have been trying to resolve two driver issues under device manager.

1.  Intel 82566DC Gigabit Network Connection #2

2. PCI Simple Communications Controller

These were not an issue prior to OS reinstall.  I have original installer disk but that does not work and I have searched the net

for these drivers.  Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Memory ranges reported by ACPI

Hello All,

I've got a question and I was just wondering if someone could help clear it up for me.

First of all I am using a Z87 chipset motherboard.

Looking at Device Manager in Windows and I see the following memory ranges when viewing the 'Resources by connection' view-

dev range.png

The question that I have is why are the last 11 items not shown to be on the PCI bus?

It appears that the PAM register ranges are shown to be on the PCI bus (well, those that have not been set to shadow the bios and vbios) such as 0xDC000 - 0xDFFFF.

I understand that the last 20MB of the 4GB address range can't be used as PCI MMIO addresses and is always sent to the DMI interface so maybe that's why they aren't shown to be on the PCI bus...

but am right in thinking that the last 11 devices shown in the above image are forwarded onto the 'PCI bus 0', just like the PAM registers, and then technically they should be shown to be in the PCI bus range?

Also if I click on one of the "Motherboard resources", say for example the one listed between 0xFED18000 - 0xFED18FFF, it shows -

moth.png

..as you can see it does show it to be on the PCI bus.

The reason I have asked this here is that I assume that Windows just gets these ranges from the ACPI tables given to it form the BIOS writers at Intel.

If anyone could offer any help with this and confirm that my understanding is correct it would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Robert

Please help identify the function of a missing pin

Hello,

The technicall problem i am currently experiencing is actually with Asus. But since it is related to Intel processor i thought i should give it a shot here.

I have been waiting for ASUS' reply for a couple of days now but to no avail. I hope someone here can help me out.

I noticed my 1 week old motherboard is missing a pin in the CPU socket. The motherboard seems to be working fine. Although I plan to run a stress test for a day to see if the missing pin would cause any problems, so far everything looks normal and working just fine.

I know sending it for RMA will take some time not to mention the item is in the Philippines.

If anyone out there can help identify the functionality of the missing pin i would very much appreciate it. The fact that the motherboard is booting up normally (all rams are detected etc) suggests it might be a pin that doesn't have any functionality, at least that's what i hope.

I would very much feel better if anyone  could answer this for me. I just wanna make sure it's something i can live without and it will not cause any long term effect.

My specs is:

Processor: Intel i7 4770K

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Formula

RAM: Gskill Ripjaws 8x4 - 32GB (total)

GPU: Asus GTX 760 DirectCU II OC (2GB)

PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTO for more details.

Thank you very much!

I recently updated to the current BIOS 066 for this board and I can no longer get into the BIOS at the slpash screen.  I had no problems previous.  I cannot get in with F2, F7 or F10.  Any ideas.  No changes in keyboard or anything else.  Very frustrating....

Thank you,

John Marrocco

Update: If I disconnect all other USB devices except for mouse and keyboard I can access BIOS, but it seems I should not have to do that.

Greetings,

I just finished building a PC, and have a nagging issue, that I have managed to ignore by using headphones. Whenever I connect my tv to my gtx 780 via hdmi, this happens:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csoo2_l7D10&feature=youtu.be

Specs:

EVGA GTX 780 3gig

Asus Z97-A mobo

i5-4670k

Win 8.1 64 bit

What I've tried:

Different HDMI cable

Different TV (to make sure the problem isn't the tv)

Different drivers for the video card

No drivers at all for the video card

Unplugging card and using just the mobo (there is no issue when I use just the mobo HDMI)

Adjusting the audio quality via control panel to different hertz.

Updating firmware of my tv

Different BIOS drivers

The GPU in a different system (it worked fine)

Lastly, there is no issue if I use a 3.5 mm headphone, or a USB headset.

The one workaround that semi-works is restarting the computer. Sometimes it will take 3 restarts, but then the issue disappears. However, from a cold boot, the problem is always there. I absolutely can't figure it out. I'm starting to think it's an intel audio conflict

Where's the BIOS-speaker?

$

I recently noticed that both the DQ77KB and DN2800MT don't seem to have a build-in speaker for BIOS-errors. I also could not find the standard 4 pin gnd-nc-nc-v+ connector that is usually used to connect a speaker like this:

12-201-032-TS?$S300W$

However, I did found an "Internal Stereo Speakers Connector" on both motherboards, but besides the pinlayout being different and having two instead of one audio channel, the used connector (JS-1125-04, with mating plug JWT A2001H02-4P) is of a type that I only know from old Soundblaster audiocards, used to connect a cdrom player to the audio card.

Since I haven't been able to find speakers with that kind of connector and pinlayout, how are users supposed to listen to BIOS-errorcodes if you can't even get a speaker that can be connected to these motherboards?

my (new) DX58so is not behaving

All:

I was given a lightly used DX58so motherboard with an i7 cpu and 6GB of RAM.

After looking at the specs, I decided it would make a nice replacement for my antique PowerEdge network server.

My plan is to run it as a Hyper-V host for 3 or 4 guest VM's.

I had it working pretty well with a 500GB boot drive except that it was taking more than 5 minutes to get to the RAID config screen.   During that time the screen is just grey with a solid (not blinking) cursor in the upper left corner.  Eventually a B/W screen appears and disappears so fast I can't read it.  I assume this is the RAID status?   Immediately after that, the blue Intel splash screen appears for a couple of seconds and then it boots into Windows if I don't touch a function key.  I have never been able to get into the RAID setup screen by hitting Control-I during the POST.

Here is what I've tried:

- disconnected all drives except the boot HD

- disconnected all USB devices except keyboard and mouse

- changed the video card

- added auxiliary power through the 4-pin molex connector

- upgraded BIOS to version 5600 using the Windows utility

- put the BIOS jumper into "maintenance mode" and reset to "optimal" defaults

- disabled, in the BIOS, any hardware not being used

- set HD delay to 0, 5, and 10 seconds

- set all overclock settings to defaults

- set boot order to HD first

- tried both Basic and Advanced menus

Here are my questions:

- Apparently, the BIOS is very busy doing something  for 5 minutes during the POST but what ???

- I have never heard a beep from this box.  Do I have a bad speaker on the motherboard?

- Can the Intel RST utility in Windows perform all the same RAID configuration functions as the Cntr-I BIOS extension?

- Is there anything in the Integrator Toolkit that might help get this BIOS configured properly?

Intel DQ87PG PCI-Express 3.0 compatibility issue?

Hi guys. Recently I upgraded to Haswell system. My Intel DQ87PG cannot work with Gigabyte HD 7850 GV-R785OC-2GD (rev 1.0) . The motherboard will beep twice, pause and beep twice (indicating no graphic card detected). I have tested it on Gigabyte G41-Combo and it works. I have also tested another graphic card (HD 5670 & HD 6870) on the Intel DQ87PG and they work. I have flashed both the Intel DQ87PG and the GV-R785OC-2GD to the latest bios and still nothing happen. Is there any compatibility issue between them? How to solve this?

My Intel® System Identification Utility ref: 0260 7653.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Memory problems with new DZ77BH-55K

I finally got all of my parts and completed the build and when I turned the computer on I heard 3 beeps (memory problem) and a 32 error code. I got the computer to boot by switching the memory around and by using only one at a time, but only with 2 of the 4 memory modules. They will only work in the "B" channel, on Dimm 4 and 2. I can have one in Dimm 4, one in Dimm 2, or one in both. As soon as I add a module to Dimm 1 and/or 3, I get the 3 beep memory problem error and the computer will not boot. I even bought another memory module from the store (different manufacturer) to be sure. I've updated the motherboard bios to the most current version (BHZ7710H.86A.0070.2012.0416.2117) but still have the same problem. The memory also showed up as 1333 MHz in the bios, but I was able to change it to 1600MHz with no problems.

Here's the specs:

Motherboard: DZ77BH-55K

CPU: Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 X 4GB) 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz (PC3 12800) Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

GPU: Nvidia GTX 560 2GB PCI Express 2.0 X 16

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or are having the same problem, so we can find a solution. I really hope it's not a defective board, because I would hate to unplug everything, ship it back and wait for the new one to come.

DB85FL support for i7-4790

Hi,

We have a large quantity of DB85FL mainboards in stock & can no longer get the i7-4770 CPU.

I have read some discussion about BIOS updates for the Haswell refresh CPUs, but the Intel CPU compatability list still doesn't include the new i7-4790.

I have noticed that the BIOS has just been updated last week (24th May 2014) for this board and it mentions "updated processor support":

Download Center

Can anyone confirm that the i7-4790 will now work with this board with last weeks BIOS update?

Thanks,

Gary.

Hello all,

are there any plans for an worthy successor mainboard of the Intel DH87RL?

I want to build a HTPC after august this year and the DH87RL board really fits my needs.

I want to avoid buying one year old Hardware in case there are no hints or features about new series 9 media boards from Intel and I can’t find any helpful information so far.

What I need are the following features:

Micro-ATX board

CIR (Consumer Infrared) port/header !!!! with wake up from S5 state!

mSATA port/slot for Intel 525 SSD (system drive)

min. 5 SATA ports (4 HDDs + BD drive)

HDMI or at least DisplayPort for video playback

Two dual USB header on mainboard (usb 2.0 is enough)

actual key components:

Intel DH87RL

Intel Core i5-4670T (new i5-4690T with newer mainboard/chipset)

Intel 525 SSD 120 GB mSATA (or m2 or whatever comes with series 9 chipset)

IR receiver for CIR connector

Kind regards.
