Hello,
My question is concerning RAID set up on the DP67BG Desktop Board. The board have 2 blue (6 GB) ports and 4 black (3 GB) ports. As I understand it, the black ports can be used for RAID and that's what I thought I did when I first set up my RAID 0. However, I notice that on boot up, I'm never shown the option to enter the RAID bios and one of my non RAID hard drives, while
recognize in the BIOS and in Intel's Rapid Storage Manager, reads O GB in both. Here is my SATA configuration:
- 4 total hard drives. Three 1 TB hard drives and one 2 TB hard drive (Of the three 1 TB hard drives, 2 are set to RAID 0 (apparently, one is on a blue 6 GB port (port 0) and the other is on a black 3 GB port (port 3) which I think is wrong) and 1 is set for storage on a black 3 GB port (port 2)).
- The 2 TB is set for storage on a black 5 GB port (port 5) but is reading 0 GB in the Bios and unknown everything in Intel's Rapid Storage Manager.
- Port 4 on the black SATA connector is occupied by a DVD ROM.
- Port 1 on the blue SATA connector is empty.
The system boots to Windows 7 (Ultimate) quickly and everything appears fine. However, Windows does not recognize or show my 2 TB hard drive and I don’t think RAID 0 is configured correctly. Here's what I tried so far: I tried moving both drives in the Array to ports 2 and 3 on the black connectors and I tried moving my 2 TB hard drive between ports (blue and black but the 2 TB hard drive continues to show 0 GB and the system stops on boot and indicates that the boot mgr. is missing. Now, according to the Storage Manager, the two disk that are in the array are on mixed colored ports. Port 0 (blue) and port 3 (black). A third hard drive (1 TB) is shown as status normal and available on port 2 (black) and the 2 TB hard drive is shown as 0 GB and unknown everything. What should I do to fix this? Your patience is truly appreciated. Thanks!
