I have a DH67GD board that I made an attempt at updating the BIOS from 0076 to 0161.
It successfully updated the BIOS, however I am unable to boot the computer. I do not even get to the BIOS screen. I have tried a CMOS reset. No luck. I have tried taking everything out including the RAM to listen for beeps. No beeps even with the RAM out. With that said, I don't distinctly recall it ever beeping even under good conditions. The manual also references the front panel LED to flash in addition to the mobo speaker. Which LED specifically? I have 1 for the hard drive (which is not plugged in). I have 1 other indicating it is powered up. Is it the power LED?
I found out later that I should have updated the BIOS incrementally. If I try doing a BIOS recovery... what version should I try to use?
I tried doing a BIOS recovery with 0076 via USB with no luck so far. Would a CDR attempt work if a USB attempt doesn't? Side question... does it have to be a CD-R, or would a DVD-R do the same?
As an experiment, I tried plugging in a USB mouse, and the LED in the mouse produces a flash and then stops displaying. To me, that would indicate that a recovery via USB would not work... would it knowing that? It appears that power is not consistently applied to any USB.
The standby light on the mobo consistently works.
What should I try next?
