Freezing at Intel Splash Screen with "EB" code

Hi friends,

I bought this week the motherboard Intel DH67BL and the processor Intel Core i5-2500.
As  I never had an Intel motherboard before I need ask:  is normal to show  the code "EB" on the right corner for a few seconds during boot?

I'm having some problems to boot with external DVD drive plugged into the USB. The screen just hangs on Intel's initial screen with the code "EB" in the right corner and stays there and the computer does not POST.

If I remove the DVD drive the motherboard  POST perfectly , but still for 2 or 3 seconds with thr "EB" on the right corner of the screen.

Is this normal? How to solve this?

ps: already updated the BIOS to the latest version.
