Memory controller and RAM

Can a defective memory controller on the CPU damage the RAM? I have a core I7 2600k not oc'd and 2x4Gb DDR3 Dual-Channel. Since a few weeks my RAM module in Channel 2 or B gets broken / faulty when usiing Dual-Channel. Channel A works well in Single-Channel mode. I've already had the third kit broken. My System ran fine for almost 2 years with the following setup:
Mainboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3
RAM: Corsair DDR3 1600 1,65V running at 1,5 volt
CPU: I7 2600k not overclocked

GPU: GTX580 stock clock

PSU: 1200 watts

Sadly I do not have any other means/pc's of testing the cpu.

If it's possible that the memory controller is faulty I'd like to replace the CPU.

I appreciate any help/information.
